I'm outside of Baba's house like the rest of everybody else in this our small suburban neighbourhood watching Baba ready to jump off his house. Cop cars are parked outside, few police officers are inside his house while some remain outside.
Everybody is in shock by what they are all seeing. The lovely Baba that they all knew is a criminal. Ciara thankfully, informed the police about Baba attempting to murder her and of course,he won't go to jail because he'll just end his life.
"Don't jump off the balcony Mr Best. Just go back inside and we'll all talk about this!" One cop shouts out to Baba trying to negotiate with him.
"I don't want to go to jail!" Baba shouts back.
"Let's talk about it then, can we?!" The cop shouts out to him again but Baba isn't ready for any of that.
"I-I murdered Miss Fiona. I killed her!" Baba says and everyone murmurs in shock and puts on disappointed looks on their faces. Oh,for me,I'm not surprised anymore.
"Tell Ciara I'm sorry," Baba says and jumps off the balcony to death. He breaks his head, neck and probably every thing else on his way to the ground and dies with his eyes wide open. Blood begins to cover where he rests and this is traumatic for everyone of us.
Tears begin to roll down some women's faces and the word spreads of course. Mr Best professionally known as Baba by his neighbours, commits suicide after revealing he attempted to kill his niece Ciara and suddenly killed the lovely neighbour,Miss Fiona.
There is a saying about people like Baba. "Wicked men die with their eyes open to take the last glimpse of the wicked world they've left behind them."
Finally, the old man is dead. Ciara is safe from him now.
One senior cop orders his two fellow officers to cover up the man's body which they do. Some officers begin to investigate this case immediately by talking to the neighbours about Mr Best's past life. Some neighbours begin to walk home and the other cops then request for back up. The ambulance is on its way to take away this criminals body.
I'll miss the old man,he was my landlord. He welcomed me with open arms and made me laugh. Unwillingly. But hey, some people are better off dead than alive.
