Ciara,Kaiser and I are in a certain store of a certain town. We are buying some food stuffs to eat on our way to California.
Ciara and I are by the beverage session and she looks so happy. She looks free. But I don't want to share that freedom with her knowing I'm still enslaved by my mistakes.
"Coca-Cola?" She asks me pointing at the bottle in the refrigerator."No. Something healthy," I say to her and she smiles.
"Mango smoothie? I know you love Mango," she says picking out the beverage for me. I nod in affirmation.
"Ciara?"
"Yes?" She asks as she is picking out her drink.
"I love you," I tell her and she looks at me surprised. I get confused.
"What is it?" I ask.
"You love me? Oh,my gosh," she says in excitement and shock of course.
"I love you forever. I'm so happy you've said it back, thank you," she says and embraces me.
"I mean it actually. I love you and I'm grateful for showing it to me. Thank you for letting me know that Love is loyalty. A commitment. Thank you for sticking by me and not letting go despite seeing all my ugly scars,I love you," I tell her whole heartedly.
She has tears rolling down her face with that beautiful smile of hers intact.
"Thank you," she says and kisses me.
"Let me wipe these tears. I don't want to reach California saddened," she says and wipes off her tears.
I lightly smile at her. I kiss her forehead.
"Let me check out the restrooms,I'm pressed," I lie to her knowing I'm going to die.
"Okay,I'll be with Kaiser waiting for you. Don't take long," she says and I nod in agreement.
I'm sorry Ciara but this is the last time you'll ever see me. Glad I finally told you something I've always wanted to. This was the right time.
I'm laying on the ground with blood filled up in my mouth. I think I broke my legs and a few bones in my body.
People are surrounding me and I can hardly feel my body. My head aches and I only see blurry faces of people. I hear them advising to call the ambulance. Don't save me!
I look over to see Ciara running towards me. She is crying and looks broken.
"Timothy,no,no,no! No!" She disagrees with the fate I've chosen to take.
"Don't do this to me,we are so close to a new life," she says crying.
She has blood on her hands. It's my blood. I'm laying in my own pool of blood and I can only hear sirens in my head now.
"Timothy, don't leave me," she tells me and I feel my eyes roll at the back of my head. I can feel my soul disembark my body. My air,my breath.
I can't see a thing. Black.
I hear Ciara scream in pain.
Am I dead?
