Just do it! I heard a woman say. She sounded desperate, panicked almost. I didn't see people, I just heard their voices, but I knew who this first voice belonged to. But she needs her mother. NO! You are not thinking clear- I AM! She took a deep shaky breath in. This test, showed what I was afraid of, my husband, will be here any moment from dropping our son off at a neighbor's house. there was a slight pause. if he finds out, about this, he'll- she dropped off. then what will you have us do, she's perfectly healthy. give her to someone, ANYONE! Keep it out of Abnegation I beg you. And what do we tell him about you being here? Anything other than the truth! Someone stepped in. I know somewhere, that she'll be safe. From both of them. I finally turned around as someone in grey exited with the small infant. In the bed, was a woman. She was a little pale, she had dark eyes, they looked almost black. Her hair was dark, it was either a dark brown or black. The woman there was my mother.

My eyes snapped open as someone was banging a pipe or something, onto something metal. I rolled over on my bed. One of the leaders were waking myself and the other three who stayed in this sector up for school. I sighed some rolling back over on my back. I hated that one memory. It was only a sliver of my curse. I remembered a lot of things. I remembered that one snip of a memory from Eleven almost Twelve years ago. from the day I was born. My mother gave me up, and someone brought me to Dauntless. The way the story went was I was a Jane Doe, that a seven year old found outside of Dauntless. There was no note, no nothing, I was given to the family, of the kid who found me, but only for a short period of time, as they were an older couple and typically no one last's till they're old and grey here, and most would rather be dead than Factionless. So after they're death, I was deemed a "Daughter of Dauntless" basically a term of everyone was responsible for me.

I looked around and saw that the other three were already awake, and up and had been for some time. their beds were already empty and made. I sat up and walked into the bathroom and stared into the mirror. I was small for my age. presumably since I was premature. I was short, and under weight, pale with dark brown hair, that was long. I didn't really cut my hair. I made eye contact with myself in the mirror. my green eyes were dark, almost sludgy looking. I got cleaned up and dressed and stuck my black, square thick rimmed glasses on, and pushed them up with my middle finger. My eyes relaxed from my squinting glare into my normal scowl. I saw features that I shared with my mother. the same sharp features, which would become sharper with age. the dark eyes, the dark hair, the pale skin. I looked down from the mirror and turned. I walked out and grabbed my boots before exiting the dorm.

I bounced on one foot down the grated hall as I pulled my sneaker on, the distant thuds of a loud bass echoed some what through the halls. it was coming from the mess hall, but it didn't matter, the music was always loud enough that as soon as you walked out of a bedroom or sector, you could probably hear it. I went over the grated floors and headed towards the chasm. Come on Kace, mess hall! I looked over from the Chasm and saw Amar standing on a ledge. Don't just stare at me! I mean it! Double time! I rolled my eyes and picked it up. Amar was the one who found me. for awhile I was with his grandparents before they did a swan dive off of something. They named me Kacie, which meant Vigilant in war or something like that. My full name was given when his grandparents died. Kacie Lynne Greyson.

The one thing that always stuck out was there wasn't a note with me. I got the feeling that wasn't true, I couldn't explain why, but I knew when people were lying about something. And Amar had been lying about something from the night he found me. when he'd explain he never found a note or hospital bracelet with a name, they assumed I had been abandoned by some Factionless person, his ears would turn a subtle shade of pink, and the corners of his mouth would twitch, like he wanted to smile but was suppressing it. When I was about nine, and had, had the memory dream I did some digging. I found a shoe box in his apartment labeled "Kace" which is his nickname for me. I found a couple things in there, but the thing that I found that would forever change my life, was the hospital bracelet with one name on it. a last name. I stole it from him. He never knew either.
