I was running through the rows of plains houses. My gun strapped to me. I felt like I was being chased. Someone saw me, they knew I was awake. I could deny being awake, or why I was awake. I turned and kept running but tripped. I skidded and turned over so I could see what I had tripped on. My stomach dropped. The dead woman. I stared at her and her eyes flipped up at me. I jumped some. Why didn't you help us? I shook my head as she pushed up and started crawling towards me. You could have saved us! I started scooting back as Dauntless that died or Abnegation who also died started appearing. I wasn't running from Dauntless/Erudite soldiers. I was running from them. I started kicking as they grabbed at my boots. Please I'm sorry I tried! They started hissing my name. I took a breath in to scream. Kacie!Kacie! I sat up with a jolt, and started slapping at the hands that had ahold of me. I started kicking as well. Hey! Open your eyes! It's me! I woke up fully, breathing hard. I saw Four knelt in front of me. It's just me. Four. I muttered, reassuring myself, and he nodded. Yeah, it's Four. I looked up and out, it was dark out. It's time to jump. I nodded and stood up wobbly. The others looked at me. I turned red some. I was Dauntless, and they all just watched me have a nightmare.
I took a deep breath in and let it out before jumping. I landed hard in a crouch before pushing up and walking. Nothingness stung or hurt anymore. I didn't understand why I randomly felt pain. I pushed up out of the crouch and looked at the worn path that the Amity trucks had made. I looked up at the fence, it was locked, and looked so much different than it did at the field trip. I looked over as Four and Tris landed and I pulled my arms around me. There are supposed to be Dauntless guards here. I looked at Marcus as he stated that. I raised an eyebrow. Where are they? His question made me want to punch him in the face, he was acting as if the attack didn't just end an hour ago. They were probably under the simulation, and are now- Four stopped shaking his head some. Who knows where, doing who knows what. I looked down pulling my lips in. This time last night I was in Dauntless, worrying about if I was going to stay with Four or not. And then my brain went back to Eric.
He was in on this whole plan. He seemed shocked that I had been injected when I told him. It had to have been some sort of act. I didn't understand still what happened or why he seemed so upset about it. Maybe deep down he registered what a lot of people forget to register. I was a kid. I looked over as Four walked to the key pad. Let's hope Erudite didn't think to change this combination. He said entering a series of numbers. I heard the beep signaling it had unlocked. How did you know that? I looked at Caleb, his emotions were seeping through his speech now. I worked in Dauntless control room, monitoring the security system. He looked over. We only changed the codes twice a year. Four answered. I looked at his back, I could see the top of the Dauntless flames curling up from under his collar. How lucky. Caleb spat and I rolled my eyes. Luck had nothing to do with it, I only worked there because I wanted to make sure I could get out.
The amounts of times Four had mentioned wanting to leave in the middle of the night, that way no one noticed scared me then. But now it made sense. He seemed to have known something bad was going to happen for a long time. We walked through the gate silently. It didn't have the same feel as last time either. I felt weird going back to Amity. I really didn't want to have to go there again.

I saw lights peaking out from behind trees. I felt like I was in a trance almost. There was this sweet smell flooding in around me. We got to a spot where we could see it. Amity. Even though I had already seen it once, it still seemed different from Dauntless, and it still surprised me. We had to walk through this orchard. It had this sweet yet rotting smell about it. I looked up at the dark red fruit hanging in the trees, no one had picked them. I kept looking around as we drew closer to the area. I know where to go. Marcus stated. I frowned some as I was confused as to WHY he would know. Leaders go to other factions frequently. I remembered Hectors words the day I saw Eric in Erudite. It made sense now. We walked passed the first building. All the structures here were made out of some sort of wood. I ran my hand over some of the rough wood as we went towards the second building to the left. Soft laughter erupted out of an open window. Amity was really different from Dauntless in several aspects. Dauntless was dark and slightly dank, so I was always surrounded by the stone walls, and tight narrow paths, and or glass and metal. Here it was spacious and light, even with it being dark.
