I opened my eyes, and just saw grey. I was outside, I knew that much, the sky was what was grey, it was overcast. The wind was whistling and felt strong, so I had to be high up. I sat up and my stomach dropped, I could see the tops of other buildings. I scrambled to my feet and ran to the edge and looked down. I was on top of the Hancock building. Michigan Avenue was below me. I scrambled back to the hole but, there was no ladder. I crouched quickly as I didn't want to be standing up anymore. If I dropped down into the hole, I would get hurt, but I couldn't stay up here. I heard a weird noise, and something fell on the street below. I walked over to the edge and looked down again, glass panels and metal beams from the building were falling I had to get down and now. I couldn't use the zipline, if this building came down with me on it, I was doomed, but if I stayed up here and it came down, I was doomed. Think Kacie. I muttered as the ground shook, as the building was falling apart. This is your fault. I frowned and turned. Out of nowhere Amar, and the two Dauntless soldiers I had killed were just there, followed by the Abnegation woman and child. We're dead because of you! What? I muttered backing up, I hit the ledge. Amar grabbed my jacket in his bloodied broken hand. We died because of you, the city will burn because of you. I looked back as the other buildings crumbled into flames. So you'll burn with us. The tower tipped, and somehow turned upside down, I gasped as I fell, my back hitting something cold.
My eyes snapped open. I looked around at my current surroundings, I was facing a wall. I move my hand out from under the corner of my pillow, my glasses were in my hand. I stuck them on as I rolled over, looking at the holey ceiling. I didn't know if it was how tired I was, or the lack of pain receptors, but I slept surprisingly well after I came back inside with Four. I sat up grabbing my bag out from under my pillow. I frown some as a Factionless woman walks over to me, and drops the clothes she had with her, next to me. They may be a little big on you, but it's the smallest we could find. I nod once and stand up with them, my legs shook. I look around awkwardly as the people just changed there, out in the open. I looked over as Tris got ahold of my arm and took me to a corner, between her and the stiff, they shielded me as I changed. The bottoms were Dauntless jeans, which thankfully fit, the top was an Erudite top, and the jacket was an Abnegation jacket, however Susan switched with me, so I got landed with an Erudite jacket blazer instead. I stuck the shoes they gave me on, which were thankfully Dauntless boots. and nodded once at Tris as I pulled my hair up. For a minute or two Tris disappears but I find her with Caleb, they're both against a wall, eating peanut butter.
Kace, you want any? Tris asked I looked over at her. Kacie, and no thank you. You didn't eat last night. She said and I shook my head. I'm not hungry. They looked between each other and then at me. I looked over and saw Four, so I pushed off the wall and fell into stride next to him. Good morning. He said and I sorta smirked. Plan? Go to Candor. Are you sure? Yes, the other Dauntless are there, so we go there. Four I don't- What're you scared of? It's Candor. I said stopping and he looked at me. The others will be happy to see you. They probably think I'm dead or something. Or they were the ones looking for you. I shook my head some. No, they know I'd rather die than go here. He sighed some. We have to go, that is the long and the short of it, and I know you don't want to stay here. I sorta cocked my jaw. Fine. I muttered and shook my head. I don't like this, but fine.

When we get to the Candor compound my stomach starts doing flips. Back before the Factions, Candor's compound used to be a building called merchandise mart, and from what I understood about Faction history, they used to do some sort of trading here I think. Over time, letters went missing and got the nick name Merciless Mart. I had never been in or near Candor. The attack started before our field trips had ended, but as soon as we walked in, I would have stepped foot in all five Factions. I grew up in Dauntless, I had taken haven in Amity, I had been in Erudite because of the field trips but also because I had, had loads of testing done when they were trying to find out why I didn't feel pain, and then Abnegation flashed into my head. I swallowed hard as I balled my hands into fists. I couldn't do this right then. Here we go. Four muttered as we walked in, my feet hitting black marble flooring. In the center of the room, is white marble making up the Faction symbol. I keep looking around, it's too quiet, and feels almost TOO clean. In a blink, there are Dauntless EVERYWHERE. All of them armed, and the guns were pointed at us. A Dauntless chick, who has a sling on her arm walks forward gun pointed at Four. Identify yourselves. She snapped as I raised my hands, showing I was not a threat, but that didn't seem to make things better. Four, and this is Tris, both Dauntless. I couldn't say anything as she looked over. SOME HELP HERE! I frowned more as they moved forward cautiously, like we were some sort of wild animal about to jump on them.
