i help in taking the boards off the roof racks, they had an esky of drinks and a couple other things left in the back of the car that we would get out later. the rest of their family had their own boards and apparently i was using one of dahlias boards. since it was still early the sun was just rising enough to see well but not fully up.

hayden was getting into his wetsuit between the two car doors. Anna, dahlias mum, was already in hers. dahlias father, wasn't gonna wear one and Dahlia who was digging through the boot had hers pulled up to her waist  

"ah here" she smiles victoriously showing a black wetsuit with a blue line around the left calf and the brand o'brian on the chest. she holds it out to me. i was surprised and a bit unsure. 

i was already wearing a bikini so standing inbetween the doors where hayden previously was i slipped the jumper i had on off and with the help of dahlia since it was an over the head chest zip thing we managed to get it on. 

pushing my head through the hole felt like i was being birthed or something. dahlia helped to move around the fabric so it sat right since i had no idea. we got all my hair from under the wetsuit as i held it out of the way for dahlia to zip up. 

"beautiful" dahlia smiled once we had finished. i will admit it fit quite well and i could still freely move. we join the rest of the family just in time as everyone was ready.

"okay dahlia make sure to stay with y/n. haydo will be near you guys, your mum and i will be in and out of the water okay, stay safe. out of currents and you know what to do if you get stuck" her dad explained as we walked down the wooden ramp covered in sand. we all agreed and after a couple towels and a bag with literally just sunscreen and a small firstaid kit was put down. dahlias parents and hayden ran to the water. 

"you ready?" dahlia grinned holding her hand out for me to take. 

"as ready as ill ever be" i laugh taking her hand as we go towards the water. we didnt let go all the way until we were in the water getting on our boards. we paddle out just next to hayden. he holds out his hand. 

"dap me up" i cant leave him hanging so i do. laughing to myself. when all of a sudden i get told a good wave is coming. hayden lines himself up as dahlia reminds me what to do while lining herself up as well. 

"see you in a minute" dahlia smiles as the wave comes closer and closer. my jaw hangs open at the reference but before i can react the wave is coming and i have to prepare. 

i get up on the wave simply standing on the board and going into shore the others however were just warming up with impressive tricks. 

"amazing as always" i compliment dahlia as we both start walking back into the ocean. she just laughs. 

for a couple more hours we surfed and like alot, probably stopped twice for water but that was it. soon enough her parents stood by the edge of the water waving us in and looking at where the sun was it was probably around 11 am. 

i had barely noticed how many more people had piled into the beach. hayden had ran ahead rummaging through the esky they had brought down. dahlia and i walked out next to eachother. 

"how you going" she asked nudging my shoulder.

"im having fun but its amazing watching you guys" i explained readjusting the board under my arm

"your going great, i think we are almost finished for this morning but next time imma teach you something" she grins, so theres a next time. "or if we get time today" she adds thinking.

yeah did have motivation at the beginning but then i kinda lost it so sorry
