"Congratulations guys! The deal is ours! Thank you to every one of you for putting a lot of work and thought into this. The pitch couldn't have gone better!" I said giving an encouraging smile to the team and everyone burst out into cheers.
Taran placed his hand on my shoulder from one side and Ray from the other side with huge smiles and I smiled back at them. Our fathers were clapping for us and I felt happy. Every single time I put in everything and win a deal....the feeling, the emotion is so exhilarating, so exciting. Cracking deals is not just strategic but also creative and considering Arvi is the creative one in the relationship, this is my way of being artistic I guess. Though it sounds funny. And I am rather proud of my strategies.
As the team along with the managers went out we all settled down and Sashi Uncle spoke up.
"Arvi spoke to me regarding the matter Vijay. I am glad you told her" he said and Dad smiled at him. I know what they are talking about but I kept mum. I know how much Arvi speaking meant to Sashi Uncle. He looks a lot less worried now.
"What matter Sashi?" Ankit Uncle asked and Dad explained everything to the rest of them including Taran and Rayaan.
"What the fuck? She can't just waltz in right now. Maybe we can file a police complaint on her and get a restraining order" Rayaan suggested and Sashi Uncle shook his head.
"She is a nuisance beta. She won't stop just because of a restraining order. She will go ahead and create more chaos about wanting to meet Arvi.......maybe I shouldn't have gotten Arvi back.....maybe she was better off the spotlight" he said sighing and I intervened.
"No Uncle. How long will you keep Arvi away? We all know Arvi loves being here and though she doesn't like the spotlight, she is a part of us. And it's her right to be known. Don't worry about that lady. I'll take care of it. I'll keep extra security around Arvi and the house so she won't create any ruckus" I said and he nodded his head.
"Sashi, Arvi is our daughter too. We will protect her. I know how overwhelming this is for you bringing all the old pain back. Just don't take any stress alone. We are here together okay?" Kishan Uncle said and Sashi Uncle smiled.
As they all smiled at each other Taran, Rayaan and I passed smiles at each other. The close friendship between our parents is something we all cherish since we were kids and something we wish to continue.
"I forgot to tell you guys. Harish and his daughter Naina are coming over to our house" Dad said and I heard my friends snickering beside me. Even the elders groaned in annoyance.
"Why is he even coming?" Udit Uncle asked with an irritated expression and Dad shrugged.
"I don't know! Only for namesake, he is my sister's husband but he is an asshole. And you know how Anjali can't say no. He buttered her up and she invited them. He has some work for three days I think and is coming over with his daughter. My sons, be careful!" Dad said and I sighed closing my eyes. Arvi won't like it.
