•Chapter- 22•

Pin drop silence. I usually don't mind the silence. It keeps me calm. But now, I wish there is some noise. Something other than the heavy silence.

"What the fuck do you mean Arvi?" Ray was the first one to speak. Ray is the kind of person who is extremely easy going but if he becomes livid, no one I mean no one can save the person from him. And right now he is beyond livid.

"Ray, she is right. Navya Aunty was killed.......it's a murder. Not an accident" Sia said and Ray rubbed his forehead.

"Di, what are you guys saying? How can you say it so surely?" Tara who looked shaken up spoke.

"Exactly? How did you guys get to know? It's been more than 10 years since the incident. How now?" Taran asked.

"Okay. Guys......listen. Sia and I went to the store room to get our childhood pictures for something. We came across Navya Maa's album and we wanted to look at her pictures because it's been a long time since we saw that album. A book came fell from inside of it and we saw that it was a diary. When we wanted to keep it back, I saw a letter inside. I thought it was her private letter and we both didn't want to open it.

Except....." I said trailing off and looked at Sia.

"Except what?" Abheer asked in a hard tone and Sia took the letter and opened it.

"Except it had blood" Sia said showing it to everyone.

Everyone visibly shook as they took in that bloody letter. Rayaan snatched it from Sia and read it. Tara too went beside him and stared at it. The letter was written in a rush and it had blood stains on it. Maa's blood.

"It says 'You guys should be careful. See everything properly. Rakesh Mehta is the one' and that's where it ends" I said and everyone read the letter by now.

"Mumma was murdered" Tara whispered and sat down. I immediately went to her and knelt in front of her as she sobbed.

Rayaan backed himself to the wall and I can see tears in his eyes. Ehaan and Abheer went to him.

"Rakesh Mehta killed my mom Abheer. That bastard is living free when he killed my Mom" he said furious yet tears streaming down his eyes.

"He won't for long. That bastard is going to die" Abheer said in a deadly tone when I stood up.

"Abheer, whatever we do, we have to be careful. He is in town. I heard from Anjali Maa that he is going to be here until our engagement is done. He has been invited. And if he gets to know that we know about him, he might harm someone from the family. Plus have you guys thought about why or how he murdered Maa?" I said and Abheer turned to me with a thoughtful look on his face.

"That's right. Why would he do that? As far as we know, no one from the family knows him. He is Ravi Uncle's brother and we all are close to Ravi Uncle. What is his motive? Is there any backstory that we aren't aware of?" Taran spoke out.

"Then that's what we find out. Guys, it's exactly 12 days for the engagement. We need to be extra careful. We will be seeing more of that man now. We need to find out what his story is and when the correct time comes, we strike" Ehaan said and everyone agreed.

"We follow the original plan when it comes to the attack guys. In the meanwhile, you guys find out if there is any connection between the Mehta family and ours" Abheer said indicating the first part to the guys and the second part to us and we all nodded our heads.

"Ray, Tara....we will find out everything. Whatever it is in that letter, we will dig deep. For now, we have to keep this from the elders. Udit Uncle shouldn't know of this until we get to know everything okay?" Sia said looking at both of them.

"I know. We won't tell Dad anything until we know everything" Tara said and Ray agreed.

Everyone left my room lost in thoughts and loss of words. Except for Abheer. He locked the door and took off his suit and loosened his shirt buttons.

We both sat on the bed, resting our backs on the headboard. Our hands are locked together and we just sat in silence.

"I never knew that opening that one album is going to bring this huge of news Abhi" I said and he looked at me.

"You can let it out Arvi" he said and I did. I let the tears flow as I sobbed silently hugging his arm. His hand is in my hair, caressing it softly.

"I am so confused Abhi. Why would he do that? We don't even know him. How could he do that? He killed Maa Abhi. He killed my Maa. She is the most sweetest person ever" I said, my tears flowing continuously.

"We will find out Arvi, and we will kill that bastard. I promise you. I won't let that man get away for taking Navya Aunty away from us" Abhi gritted his teeth and I looked up. Even his eyes are wet as he remembered Maa.

"We won't. We need to know the connection. We need to make him pay" I said determined to raise hell.

"We will baby....we will"

Hello lovely people!!!! I am super sorry for the short chapter! Have a lot going on! But the great thing is that I got an internship/job kinda thing!! And my mentor is super sweet and really loves me which is a bonus. I am super happy about that and today went with me trying to earn it so that's why late and short chapter. I promise to come with a long chapter tomorrow pakka!
