"Will anyone tell me what's happening?" Our moment broke and we turned to see Naina standing at the entrance.
"Naina? What are you doing here?" Sakshi Aunty asked confused.
"I forgot one of my bags here Aunty so I came back to collect them. I also had some work with my friend here. But what is happening here? Why the fuck is she sitting on Abheer's lap?" She asked pointing at us and my darling who realized the whole scenario now immediately got up in a swift and stood beside me.
I frowned at the loss of contact. The moment I saw her, all I wanted was to hug her tight and reassure her that I am fine. Arvi is easily panicked when it comes to people who are close to her. It has to do with her childhood trauma. Ever since the first time, I did everything in my power to not trigger it. And all I wanted to do since yesterday was get home to her.
Today when I came back and I saw her face ready to burst into tears, an ache settled in my chest. My habibi was so scared.
And though I know everyone is watching I didn't give a fuck. She is my wife of course. Even though not official, she has been my wife since forever now. And so I didn't care about anything else than calming her down first.
"I...." Arvi tried to speak and looked at loss for words when I just held her hand and pulled her onto my lap.
"Arvi and I are dating" I said and silence prevailed. Stunned silence. We decided to tell everyone soon and now it's already out so what's there to hide? Plus I need contact with my girl right now so I didn't care.
"For the past 6 years, we have been dating and we want to get married. To me, she is already my wife but I want to marry her officially. Same with Arvi. I am sorry we hid it for so long but we wanted to settle first and then break it to you guys" I said shrugging my shoulders and looking at Arvi to see her sitting on my lap with her mouth agape.
I resisted the urge to chuckle and closed her mouth gently. I looked around to see all the youngsters shocked at the way I revealed and all the elders in utter surprise.
My Mom was the one to break out into a smile looking at us and she blinked her eyes. A way of saying, she is happy. I smiled at her and Arvi just elbowed me and sat beside me this time, instead of getting up.
She glared my way and I just frowned at her.
What? I just wanted to sit near my girl! Is that too much to ask for??
"What? How can that be possible? Why her even Abheer? You can do so......" The idiot started but I cut her off before she can even complete the sentence.
"Don't you dare complete the sentence otherwise consequences won't be nice Naina. She is my girl and my soon to be wife, you better behave otherwise my Dad made your father's company and I can bring it down faster than he took to make it" I said leaning back and looking at her calmly yet anger is evident in my tone.
