You didn't know about vampires, werewolves or being Jaspers mate. Jasper though, known since they moved to Forks. He made sure to stay away from you with the help of Alice. He didn't trust himself to be alone with you.
At the end of school, the Cullens were getting into the car before Jasper looked over at you overhearing the conversation you and Mike were having.
"I thought you were fuckin with Bella? You asked looking at Mike.
"Well she's not really giving me any signs..." he shrugged.
"So I'm your backup?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
"No, no, no. I wanted to see if maybe you wanted to hang out later... or now?" He smiled taking a step towards you.
His flirting continued. Jaspers anger was reaching his head but as soon as you started to flirt back. He quickly through his bag in the car and walked at a human pace towards you.
Holding his breath and walking to the side of the both of you.
"Hello (Y/n)... Mike." Jasper said calmly, his power making Mikes anxiety go up while yours was calming.
You were shocked a Cullen was talking to you.
"H-hey, Jasper. What's up?"
"I was wondering if you could help me make (a food in your culture) I heard you made it for lunch today and I have always wanted to try it. If not, I understand." He glanced at Mike giving him another wave of fear.
"Oh! Yeah definitely. I-I can help." You we're struck with his beauty as you forget about Mike who has walked away.
"Perfect. You can ride with us." He said taking your back guiding you to the Cullens car, leaving yours in the process.
Rose groaned and shook her head while Alice shushed her saying how she knew this was coming and had warned them ahead of time.
