*PAIGE'S POV*

I can't believe it, I think as Niall says those last harmonious words 'will you marry me?' Even though there's thousands of fans in the audience watching, listening for my reply, three quarters of them are probably picturing my death at this very moment, as I take Niall away from them, figuratively speaking obviously, I feel as though myself and Niall are the only ones standing in this stadium. I start to laugh adorably as happy tears fall down my face. "Yes, yes, yes! A million times yes!" I scream at him before he slides the white gold solitaire engagement ring on my finger. When he eventually returns to eye level, I look into his eyes, which are also filled with tears, neither of us ever thought this moment would come, I knew that for a fact. "I love you babe!" He whispers in my ear. "And I love you Nialler, so very much!" I reply calmly before we are forced to part and let the boys wrap up the concert with the final song 'Act my Age'. "I'm so happy for you Paige!" Clo shouts over the music. "Thanks Clo!" I reply hyperactively before pulling her into a quick hug.

- 1 Week Later -

It's the day of Demi's first birthday party and i have to say that i've never been so excited. To see her beautiful little face light up with us all there together in one place. We've decided to host the party in my home town, Winsford, located in Cheshire and not 5 minutes away from Harry's house, which is exactly where Chloe is right now. Myself, Niall, Shelby and Liam are already in Winsford, preparing everything whilst the others have their own jobs, collecting the cake and making the party bags for the younger guests. I begin blowing up the balloons in my parents' house, feeling that this is the perfect place for her first birthday, nothing too big, just perfect. Taking a deep breath, i begin to blow the bright pink balloons which read 'Happy 1st Birthday Demi' when out of nowhere, Niall jumps up and scares the shit out of me causing the balloon to fly everywhere like an uncontrollable bird. Niall then bursts into a fit of laughter, clasping me in a firm embrace. I shove him away from me playfully and slap his shoulder, hard. "Ouch!" He manages to say, in between his laughing. "Niall! You scared the hell out of me you tosser!" I reply, not being able to stop the laughter from erupting from inside of me either.

"Where do you want this Paige?" Liam asks, holding up the final birthday banner. Fussing with every last thing around me, the decorations, the table layout in the living room, even the music choices, i want everything to be perfect for my daughters birthday. "Paige?" Liam says again, shaking the banner in his hand. "Right, sorry, errrm, above the mirror please!" I reply, pointing to the mirror above the fireplace in the stock full living room. Thankfully, Shelby walks in. "Paige, you gotta calm down, this place looks amazing, Demi is going to love it, just like everyone else, we've done a great job!" She cheers emphasizing to different areas of the room. The hard truth is that i'm not fussing over the decorations or the music. "I know, i just feel like there's something missing..." I reply sorrowfully "You mean someone?" Niall says from behind me. My eyes glance to the ground and i nod. "I didn't want to bring it up first in all honesty." I mumble, fingering the locket which hangs round my neck, a locket which holds a picture of both our children. At this point, Shelby has re-joined Liam, making the finishing touches to...well, everything. "Neither did i." Niall replies before taking a deep breath. "But, sadly we can't ignore the fact that every year, as Demi grows older and more beautiful, Justin should've been by her side, comforting her and joining her in every little adventure she has with us and with everyone but..."

"But he won't be..." I finish Nialls' sentence, as a single tear falls down my face. "Hey! We promised, no tears on our daughters birthday." Niall objects, wiping the tear away as quickly as it arrived. "I know, i know i'm sorry, i just miss him so much Nialler." quickly, he sweeps me into his torso and holds the back of my neck with the palm of his hand, "Oh baby, i know, i miss him too. And we both will, every day for the rest of our lives but we need to stay strong for Demi. And as she grows up we can tell her about her twin brother and how beautiful he was" Niall finalises before kissing me gently. "You look amazing with that ring on by the way" He howls cheekily "Don't i have amazing taste?" I start laughing lightly. "Yes you do baby, very good taste" I reply before a knock pounds from the other side of the front door and before any of us can answer it, Chloe jumps into the house. "We have arrived!" She shouts happily, as Demi runs in from behind her, wearing the cutest baby pink dress, with a matching ribbon wrapped in her light brown curls. "Mummy" Daddy!" She says, her voice so delicate. Both myself and Niall fall to our knees and open up our arms. "Happy birthday gorgeous!" We both say in sync as she runs in between our arms so we're wrapping her up like a christmas present. This makes it clear who the most excited person in the world is right now, and i'm so grateful that that person is my daughter.

*CHLOE'S POV*

To see Niall and Paige look so happy, cradling and bouncing demi on their knee's made me realise how happy we all seemed to be. For once, there was nothing to hide behind our smiles, no guilt, no shame, no stomach-twisting thoughts that could rip us from this happy moment. Yet, I could tell that Paige, and Niall forced their smiles. That actually, behind them, there was only sorrow- and then it hit me. Justin. It was of course, a year since he died. As Demi was born, her twin brother lost his life. "Clo?" Harry's soft voice trailed behind me, as I turned around. "Are you alright, love?" I nodded, shaking off my deep thoughts and bringing myself back into present. "Yeah! Just having a bit of an emotional moment." Harry smiles softly, quirking his brows and narrowing his eyes. I could already see the slight worry form on his slightly tanned features, this urges me to change the subject quickly. "OH! Presentss!" Quickly, I gasp; catching Demi's attention. "Wonder what Auntie Chloe has for you, Demi?" Quickly, me and Harry rush to the car, grabbing the rather large box, wrapped in shiny pale pink wrapping paper, to perfectly match the theme of the party. As we awkwardly shuffled back into the house, Demi squealed, making grabby-hands and protesting against Paige's hold. Once the box was settled down, Demi immediately began the huge task of ripping off the paper.

It took a good hour before all the gifts had been unwrapped, and Ethan and Demi were happily content with either chewing the leftover paper, or fighting over who played with which toy. This gave us all time to talk, and me, of course to catch up over a years worth of goings on. "So Clo, I heard that you've been going to College?" Louis suddenly directs a question towards me, smiling softly. "Yeah, I uh.. have been studying Media." I could already feel the slight awkward tension fill the air, and behind Louis smile, I could see the almost.. guilt he felt. Though this year had been hard for me, one thing I had learnt, was that reflecting in the past was just a waste of time, having suffered with anxiety, it had shown me how.. strong I was, and that living in the past only created problems, instead of trying to solve the ones you could not figure out. Though I still had my moments, I was better now, and being back, with everyone, comforted me, in a way. Blinking and pressing my lips together, I shook my head slightly. "Anyway, I'm sure I've missed out on some good drama.." I quickly directed my glances towards Shelby and Paige. They both cottoned on, and soon we began a huge discussion on what had happened recently, with Shelby achieving her awards, and having a rather traumatic Pregnancy, though luckily, I didn't miss out on anything too dramatic. But as I sat with everyone, I realised that we all made it. Yes, some of us had moved on. Some had left, and new people came. Yet, we all survived whatever our.. manic lives seemed to throw at us. We all had each other. Everyone had.. someone. No one was left in the dark. And even when times seemed at their worst, when one of us seemed to be lost; we always managed to come out the other side, happier and stronger than ever before.

Suddenly, my phone buzzes in my pocket, which spurs me back into the party. "Paige! I forgot to mention, Becca said she can come.. she's on her way now!" Paige's face lights up slightly. "That's great!" me and Paige knew Becca from our short time at college, however she had grown to be one of my closest friends when I came back this year. It wasn't long until we heard a knock on the door. Quickly, Paige answered, and Becca came in, carrying a small present for Demi. "Hey guys! This is Becca, our friend from college." I quickly jump in, allowing the others to greet Becca happily. As Ethan and Demi squabble over the new set of gifts. Though, as Becca's eyes set on Harry, her expression changes, as if shocked. "Harry?" she mumbles, a blush quickly forming on her pale cheeks-as if she was embarrassed in some way. Quickly, I spin round, slightly confused. "Becca! What are you doing here?" Harry, mutters, almost flustered. The atmosphere suddenly changes, from happy, to slightly tense. Glancing round the room, I could see Liam, Louis and Zayn exchange every worried glances. And suddenly, my world seems to crash down around me once more. I guess this wasn't the perfect party after all..
