Breakfast

Almost as soon as sleep took him away, Dean woke back up. It was only seven, he thought about staying in bed since he didn't have to work, but decided it was time to start his day. Step one, taking a shower. He quickly jumped through the shower, brushed his teeth, shaved, and cleaned up the mess Cas left. He quickly got dressed, today he chose a pair of jeans with a rip in one knee, a dark green t-shirt, and a brown flannel with a bit of green on it. Step two was making breakfast, he didn't know how long the kid would sleep, but he figured he would have time. Worst case-scenario he would knock to try and get him up later.

When he got downstairs, the dogs were both waiting by their bowl, Cas's cat was on the table staring at hers as well. "Yea yea, y'all first I know." He fed all the animals, stopping to pet Bex. When he was done, he took inventory of what was in the kitchen. Luckily, Cas apparently went to the store while he was out of town, they had everything he needed to make a decent breakfast. A little over half an hour later, the kitchen island was filled with pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and bacon... maybe it was overkill, but he didn't care. All that was left was to wake the kid up.

His task of waking him up was a lot easier than he expected. When he went to knock on the door, it opened before his knuckles ever hit the wood. The kid was standing there, rubbing his eyes.

"Oh, hey Dean."

"Hey, I was just about to come see if you wanted breakfast. C'mon."

"Ok." He said, following Dean back to the kitchen.

"Take a seat, grab whatever you want. What do you want to drink? We got OJ, milk, and coffee."

"Uh.. coffee's good."

"Creamer?"

"No, just sugar."

"Nice, me too, I like it." Dean chuckled. They ate in silence, the kid was clearly still on edge, but seemed to be a bit more comfortable now. When they were done, Dean spoke again, carrying the dishes to the sink.

"So, I was thinking today we could go to the mall and get you some stuff."

"What?", he replied, tilting his head a bit.

"Ya know, like clothes 'nd stuff."

"Wh- why?"

"Well, I figured after this long it might be time to update your wardrobe a bit."

"You don't hav-"

"Hey." Dean cut him off. " I want to plus, I don't think any of our clothes are gonna work. You may as well have some new stuff while you're here."

"Oh... about that...how long do you want me to stay?", he asked slowly.

"Well, I don't mind, we have plenty of space, right now it's just the three of us. You can stay here as long as you want... or you can just stay."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean... look kid, I don't know much about what's going on, much about your past, but I have an idea." 'SHIT', he thought, feeling his face flush. "And, I know what it's like, I haven't told you my life story either. Even though I may not know everything, I do know I don't want you back out there, so... if you want to stay here, permanently or however long it takes you to figure something else out, the offer is there."

"Oh, well I - um I.."

"You don't have to answer right now, just think on it. For now, let's just go get you whatever you need. I guess you'll have to wear some of my clothes again, come on I'll show you what I got."

The next thing he knew, he was looking through Dean's closet, trying to find something to wear. He could barely focus, 'Ok, so he definitely knows, maybe I was right... maybe those were what I thought. Maybe today, I can figure it out... I mean the worst that can happen is he'll kick me out like Luke...'. Eventually, he landed on a simple pair of jeans that he tightened with a string from his hoodie, an 'AC/DC' shirt that was super baggy on him (which he loved), and a black button up shirt. As they were leaving, Dean threw him an old brown hunting jacket from the coat rack, as he threw on his own leather one.

"It's supposed to snow later on, hopefully we'll beat it." He said, leading the way to the car. "Now, the nearest mall is almost two hours away. I know, but it's Kansas, what are you gonna do?" He said, starting the Impala. "But, that gives us the whole way to talk. I know you probably don't wanna tell me anything, but it doesn't have to be everything.. Just what you want to, and I'll even tell you something about me for everything you tell me. Deal?"

"Ok." The kid responded. 'Oh god, here we go... he's gonna know. Maybe it's a good thing though...',he thought, as they started the drive. 'Maybe I can ease him into it... I just want to be able to help him. God only knows what he's been using to bind...' Dean thought, turning down his music. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A/N - this ones a bit shorted, but the next one will be a lot longer. I just didn't want to break up the dialogue.
