Chapter 44

Y/Ns POV

I whispered curses under my breath as I was struggling to reach a certain spot inside the chest cavity I finally finished putting together. I was finished with putting the upper torso, chest cavity, and one arm together so I was applying wires inside so I could get that out of the way. It's finally been a month and now I'm able to drive and work again without Nick being concerned about me. I say I've got some good progress going and I don't want to just stop...I check the time and it's already 9:00pm. I'll just tell Freddy Gregory is spending the night with him so I can finish this up real quick.

I texted Freddy and he said it's alright with him. I smile, put some music on and keep working. A few more hours won't hurt.

It is currently 6:00am and I feel dead physically and mentally. Clearly I lost track of time but hey at least I got those wires done. I look at myself in my phone camera and groan. I had dark circles, no surprise and I know for sure everyone is gonna say something if they see me like this. Maybe if I grab some sunglasses from the gifts shop I can cover it up. Then some coffee should do the trick.

I sneak my way upstairs, avoiding any employees coming in sense it is technically opening time. I grab a pair of Monty's sunglasses and coffee then get back to parts and service, seeing Foxy already in the room. "Hey Foxy." I greet, walking in and sitting in my chair. "Mornin' lass. I see ye made great progress. Proud of ya!" Foxy ruffles my hair then looks at me confused. "What's with the glasses?" He asks. "Oh the lights were starting to mess with my eyes a little so I put these on to help." I lie with a smile but earning a frown from Foxy. "Well anyway, ready to help me? I'm thinking of working on his legs today. I work on one while you work on the other?" I suggest, hiding a yawn with my coffee cup. Foxy glares at me before sighing. "Sure thing seastar." He finally answers and gets to work.

Thankfully Foxy is a fast worker. He got half of Bonnie's right leg done before he had to leave to his cove for the kids. I was still slowly working on Bonnies left leg and I'm almost half way. Just fitting a few new parts here, wire inserts there, then tons of coffee cups everywhere. My eyes were still feeling heavy but my hands were functioning like a machine on auto pilot. Maybe I can take those sundrops candies again, they did keep me up pretty well. "Why not?" I agree aloud to my own idea.

I get up and make way through crowds to get to the daycare. I walk through the double doors and spot Sun and Moon doing a puppet show for the kids. I chuckle and sit down enjoying the rest of the show. "Sunshine!" Sun cheers and scoops me up in a hug. "Hey Sunny boy!" I hug him back as he spins us. "How are you feeling? Not working yourself too hard are ya??" Sun questions, putting me down. "Oh don't worry I'm not but I could use some sundrops if ya don't mind." I smile sheepishly and play with my fingers as I look at him with pleading eyes. If he can even see my eyes with the glasses. "Of course not! I have a bunch in my room just for you!" Sun says and scurried off. "Morning Starlight." Moon says from behind, kinda startling me. "Oh hi Moony. How are you doing?" I ask with a smile. "I should be asking you that." He states as he reaches for the glasses and lifts them up to see my tired eyes. "I knew it." He mutters with a tinge of annoyance. He places the glasses back over my eyes and crosses his arms with a sigh. "Didn't sleep huh?" He asks and I just let out a nervous laugh. "No Sundrops till you get actually sleep. Those things do more harm than good." Moon lectures and pushes me to the naptime area. "Moon I don't need sleep I'm fine, really!" I begged just wanting to get done with Bonnie as fast as I can. I miss him and everyday without him eats away at me. "I didn't say you had a choice." He states, still ushering me to the nap area.

Right before we reached it, Sun jumped right in front of us. "Here you are Sunflower!" Sun pushed a whole bag of sundrops my way and my eyes sparkled beneath the glasses. I quickly snatched them before Moon could. "Thanks Sun!" I saluted and tried running away but Moon was already latched onto my arm. "You aren't going anywhere besides the naptime area." He seethed. "And Sun, stop giving her sundrops." He scolded us both. "But why? The kids get them, why can't she?" Sun asked making Moon groan. He pushed me back in front of him so I was inbetween Sun and Moon, facing Sun. Moon lifted my glasses and Sun gasped. "Oh geez. Sunbeam did you get any sleep last night?" Sun asks with concern. "Of course I did!" Moon gently slapped the back of my head. "Liar. You do realize I'm also security at night right?" He called me out. "Wow so you just watch me and not even say hi? That's rude." I joke, trying to change the subject but they both just sigh. "Sunbite...it's important to get sleep ya know." Sun stated. "Yeah it's also important to get Bonnie finished." I mumbled with crossed arms. "An hour nap shouldnt hurt, right?" His eyes begged for an agreement and I gave in only so they dont worry about me. "Fine I guess. Just one hour okay? Nothing more, I got stuff to do and kids to take home." I stated making Moon huff and roll his eyes. "You sound like one of the moms that drop their kids off here." I playfully slapped his arm and sighed. "Whatever. Now let's go, I want that hour to be over." I was now dragging Moon to the nap area as I bid Sun a goodnight.
