Romana's POV
_________________________________________________The petite woman stared intently at me, studying my features as I asked her the questions.
The way she answered them made it seem like she had them rehearsed.
"How did you and Eros meet, or how did you end up working with him?" Her eyes twinkled.
"Well" she began blushing, I Internally rolled my eyes, wasn't she supposed to hate Mr. Des'aire.
"If you must know, Eros had a crush on me....he came to the paper house, desperately in need of a journalist, somebody to take his story.
I had never seen such a handsome man in my life before and I was smitten. I begged the chief but according to him I was new, had no experience so he wouldn't recommend someone like me to someone like him, whatever that meant" she rolled her eyes.
I wrote swiftly on my notepad, trying to catch everything she was saying all while trying to mask my jealousy, yes I was jealous.
"Hmmhm?" I urged, writing the last line.
"I decided to take matters into my own hands, so I went to his house" I looked up at her, she had an accomplished look on her face and she was eyeing me for a reaction but I was somewhat good at hiding them.
"After some persuasion" she didn't try to hide the sensualism in the word persuasion but again I was only here to journal.
"He decided he wanted me, he convinced the chief and before you know it I was at his home journaling" she shrugged with a mischievous smirk on her lips.
"Got that" I trailed writing the last of the sentence.
"How long did you stay?" I continued, she had that same uncanny look in her eyes and it creeped me out.
"A year" I almost spit my coffee out but I forced a tight-lipped smile and nodded instead.
"Now onto the meat of the matter" I said turning to a clean page, she intertwined her fingers waiting patiently for me.
"What were some of the things you discovered? I saw your interview.." Her face went from taunting to reminiscing in a matter of seconds. She looked through the window in thought and sighed.
"Eros is sick, he has demons he tries to suppress and it only makes things worst.... I got to see a side of him I wouldn't want anyone to experience" I was enchanted by what she was saying, sure I saw a hint of aggressiveness, self harm and maybe some very demanding tactics but I never really saw a dark side.
Girl, trying to k.ll yourself isn't bright either.
"What do you mean?" I asked, Her eyes held a hint of sadness in them as she said.
"Eros, hit me" I gasped and my hand went over my mouth in disbelief.
"What?"
"I apologize in advance if this is triggering but I wouldn't recommend working with him, he threatened to hurt me and my family if I leaked his secret" I couldn't believe what I was hearing, if this is true then, this changes everything .
"What were his secrets?" I whispered, She smiled cunningly and folded her hands.
"That's a tricky question, Romana. One I'm not sure I should answer" a look of realization took over my face at what she was suggesting. I waved my hands in the air.
"No, no... I would never compromise this meeting Ms. Stone" her eyes narrowed at me and eventually she sighed giving in.
"Alright.... This is between us not your story" I nodded eagerly.
"Eros tried to kill his brother and that bitch Isabella knew about it and tried to get me to shut up"

Of all the things I considered Eros, a jerk, con man, a jerk again and a tease I would have never thought attempted murderer would be one of them.
How would I know if it's the truth or not? Firstly I never knew Eros had a brother and even if I did I wouldn't have thought Eros would have tried to kill him, but why? And why would Isabella try to cover it up?
I stood Infront of the big black gates, night crept over the sky making the place look scary, maybe it was a sign hinting to me that what lies inside was no different. A haunting house filled with lies and terror.
A sigh escaped me as I went up to the intercom machine, I readied the keys to the house and just as I was about to press the button to speak the gates started to open.
I gasped at the sudden wail of the iron bars, but it was quickly masked by confusion.
Who the hell, opened the gate?
I reluctantly walked through, creeping my way up the driveway. I opened the door with the keys Isabella gave me and slipped through.
The atmosphere felt dark and gloomy and a sudden chill made its way down my spine. I looked around the dark entryway averting my eyes to every nook and cranny but still, no one.
So why did I feel like someone was watching me, I walked as silently as I could to the grand staircase, my feet felt hot against the Persian rugs as I swiftly made my way up the stairs not failing to look back.
I caught a glimpse of something but I didn't stop to check it out, I dashed to my room, pulling the door quickly and practically running inside stumbling over my own two feet.
Once I closed it behind me, I felt like I could breath. A sigh of relief left me and I walked further into the room, taking off my clothes along the way.
I dropped them on the floor and proceeded to take a much-needed nightly shower. I changed into the only PJ's I have and took out my old laptop and started typing away.
This story was getting closer and closer to being a good one, not completed but being a good one. I wrote almost everything that Veronica told me, almost, as I promise not to speak about everything she told me.

Sorry about the late chapter.
What are thoughts on Veronica and her accusations about Eros?
