"Soooooo..." Marinette sidled up to Naya as she walked down the stairs after school, grinning, "how are you fitting into class?"

"Good." Naya wasn't really sure what else to say. It wasn't like she disliked Marinette, it was just the two of them hadn't really talked that much. All the blue haired girl had done was glare at her from across the room whenever Adrien talked to her, which made their relationship a bit...rough.

"You and Adrien seem really close," Marinette commented, obviously thinking she was being discreet. She was not being discreet.

"We're friends."

"That's nice. That's great! I'm happy! And of course, because he's so gorgeous—I mean, you're gorgeous! No! wait—" Marinette stuttered before trailing off awkwardly.

"It's okay," Naya laughed. "I'm not trying to get between you two. I'm not interested in him like that."

Marinette blushed bright pink. "H-huh? No! Nope! You've got totally the wrong idea!"

"Sure." She shook her head in exasperation.

"Naya!"

Speak of the devil.

Adrien came rushing down the stairs towards them, stopping a few steps up. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"

"Really? Why?"

"We were going to talk, remember?"

Marinette turned like a zombie, snapping around to stare at Naya in horror.

"Sorry. It's just, you told me so much about yourself and I haven't said anything about myself. I feel like in a relationship like this we need trust, so—"

"W-what's he talking about Naya?" Marinette whimpered, still staring at her, unblinking. "What relationship? What exactly were you saying about this?"

Mentally face palming, Naya stomped up the stairs, grabbed Adrien's hand and yanked him down past the horrified Marinette and around the corner of the school.

"What was that?" she hissed, finally letting go.

"What was what?" he asked obliviously. "In friendship, you need truth, right?"

"Oh wow."

"What?" He frowned. Then his eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. "Oh no. Naya, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like—"

"Well it did," she snapped, somehow unable to keep her cool like she usually did. "And now Marinette thinks we're dating or something!" Why was this bothering her so much? She knew he'd meant no harm and was probably so sheltered he couldn't read discreet social clues, but still!

Is it just that the idea of dating anyone other than Cat Noir makes me upset? How am I supposed to live like this?

"What a disaster," Adrien groaned, echoing her thoughts perfectly. "I'm really sorry. And here I thought we were getting to be better friends."

"H-hey," she tried meekly, reaching out towards his shoulder but not touching him. "It's okay. I'll explain to Marinette what happened...somehow. And we are friends." He looked up and she put on another smile. "Good friends."

"Really?" He laughed. "Thanks, ocean blue! Wait, I mean—"

What did he just call me?

"I mean, cause your hair is blue, kinda—" Adrien gasped in panic but it was too late.

The seeds were already planted in her head.

Didn't they kind of look alike?

Weren't their voices close to each other?

Didn't they have similar personalities?

Oh yeah, and Adrien had only started getting closer to her once she got to know Cat Noir.

Adrien...and Cat Noir?

"Naya!"

"What?" She blinked, coming out of her trance. Only one way to solve this. There was no way he could know she knew.

"Sorry, I kinda blacked out there. Iron deficiency, you know? What did you say?"

His face relaxed into a relieved smile. "Just that I'm glad we're friends."
