Adrien is Cat Noir.
Naya's heart pounded as she ascended the stairs to the roof. After doing some digging that day she'd come to that one, single, unshakable fact.
"A lonely boy, with an awful fath—parent." That was what her Kitty always said his life was like, without disclosing too many details. And what was Adrien? Exactly that. His father, Gabriel Agreste, was almost never home and almost always in a meeting somewhere, and Adrien had no siblings she'd ever heard of.
Who knows? Nino? No, the Kitty I know would never tell anyone except Ladybug, and he's already complained how she doesn't want to know his secret identity. So no one's ever figured it out.
A silly grin spread over her face and she paused, a few steps away from the door. No, no, no, he couldn't know she knew. That would risk everything. But what would he say if she told him? Oh, how she wanted to call him Adrien and see how he reacted. How she wanted to call Adrien Kitty! What fun that would be!
She shook her head. That was just stupid. She would be risking everything if Hawk Moth caught her and found out Kitty's identity.
She took a deep, calming breath, then opened the cold metal door and walked out onto the roof."Good afternoon, Naya dearest," Cat Noir called, standing and tipping an imaginary hat.
He really did look a lot like Adrien now that she could see the connection. He even sounded like him. How had she never noticed before?
"Why, good afternoon to you too, Kitty," she called back, tipping her own invisible hat. Her heart was pounding. So did she have to fake here too?
"Hey, are you okay?" he asked gently, the teasing grin dripping from his face. "You look shaky."
"N-no, I'm fine," she murmured, taking his outstretched hand and letting him lower her to the ground. "It was just a rough day."
He didn't look convinced so she leaned in and whispered, "You know, girl problems."
He flushed. "O-oh! Right! Of course!" Then he pulled back and they sat in silence for a few minutes.
After enough time had passed it became a comfortable silence and Naya felt a smile spread over her face. She wouldn't have to fake. She couldn't. She couldn't keep anything from her Kitty.
