Chapter 38: vex

I layed back on the gigantic sized bed stairing up at the ceiling , I only ever wished to call a place like this my room. I looked over at the window , the high ceilings the dresser and lamp . For almost 30 days I'd been here and yet this place was no more familiar to me then the day I arrived. I didn't do much of anything and already August was approaching , in a week I'd be the wife to that man, my own mother practically giving me up , I'd barely spoken to her , I wasn't allowed to speak to Robin or even be alone with him. I only saw Finn in passing , he'd made several attempts to apologize to me but I just couldn't forgive him for what happened that night . We almost got away and he just had to let us, I the sentimental fool blew our chances , now Robins stuck here to.

He had been sworn into the Pack , he had shifted , he was claimed as part of the McCann line . i had been recognized as the one true love and mate of Mason McCann the unification ritual or in other words the wedding was in two weeks. Mason had made numerous attempts to speak to me at which i didn't respond , he'd apologized with every attempts, flowers , chocolates, gifts his own father even tried selling to me this fantasy of a luxurious life . My mother trying to convince me that the McCann's could keep me safe from this red rain .

I could scream but i won't, part of me could tell that Robin was starting to adapt to some of this maybe even like it , we texted day and night it was the only communication we had with one another , Robins parents had a hard time accepting Robins. Condition but once Mr.McCann swayed them with getting Robin into Yale and a grand tour of McCann enterprises, along with a brand new property and automobile they'd became a lot more open they'd had a changed heart. It's almost criminal how easy some people are bought,  but they're isn't much they could do  about it. I'd been there for the night Robin shifted , apparently bittens never really get change day ceremonies but as A sign of  goodwill and being a part of the McCann line Robin got one . He had gotten friendly with some of the others but he steered clear of Mason who also attempted to apologize to him.

Mason's father and his consorts had frozen all of our assets, I couldn't even withdraw 20 $ from an ATM if I wanted to . I was given an I Pad with food delivery services on them , which I'd get from the front door . I wasn't really allowed off the property ,not without someone  i couldn't call the police they were obviously in the mayors back hand , Mason's father had personally assured me or should I say threatened me himself,  his words and I quote

" I understand you and my son have had some differences, whatever ire you have for mason  I've no doubt he deserves but i am asking you to make the best of a not so bad situation, why let petty high school grievances , get in the way of the picture , your future, a life of leisure and opportunity, access to wealth and resources , I hope that you would think on this seeing as it is a better alternative, I'd like for us all to be a family which I believe is possible , that being said let's get one thing straight, I will you hunt you down to the ends of the earth and if necessary do whatever would need be done to protect my pack, my son and the future of the community neither you or anyone else is greater then the whole I just hope it won't have to come down to that", Mr. McCann told

Well that must be where Mason gets his charm from .  I looked around at the empty food containers that surrounded my bed, I did nothing but listen to music and fantasize my escape, with everything I'd eaten I'm sure I had likely gained a pound or two . I was imprisoned and there was no one coming to save me not even Robin , what was I to do but save myself.
