Chapter 3: Change day

It was today , after 13 days and nearly dying of malnutrition, today was the day. Metamorphosis had set in , He felt it in every part of his body everything seemed acute to him ,He could hear from farther then usual , he could smell things He wasn't able to before , it was either that or delirium had set in due to lack of protein.

This slight change was nothing compared to what I would be like after the ceremony, the whole McCann pack was required to be there so that ment my friends and my not so friend Finn. It was mandatory I sat threw Finn's change day and it truly was a sight to be hold. I remember puking in disgust when his wrist snapped backwards to adjust to his wolf form. The process looked like a bitch to deal with. My parents had already begun finalizing a new diet for my metabolism.

In his complete wolf form Finn had a greyish blue coat with piercing blue eyes, I remember when he transformed and they set loose a deer they had captured and watched as he chased it into the woods, tonight it would be me chasing an animal into the woods. While his friends Carson , Jake and Thomas were no doubt sitting in Mr. Davidson's home room , he was to stay home and prepare for the ceremony.

It was pretty disheartening that the first time he was to taste meat as a 16 year old was a dead deer carcass that luckily he wouldn't remember consuming. It's times like these though he hated to admit it, he missed his childhood best friend Finn.

Finn and him grew up side by side in the pack, there fathers were best friends and even went to the same high school though Finn wasn't a pure born , he never thought less of him, in fact he'd gotten into several scraps with other members of the pack for discriminating against him. Finn was over at his more then his actual parents at times, the only person he ever felt he could share anything personal with was Finn  Til he turned around and did what he did. They had promised each other they'd stay back for each other's change days, on Finns change day Mason had skipped school and snuck over to Finn house to help him prepare.

Here he was completely alone , malnourished , trying desperately not to sike himself out. He stood up to make his way to the bathroom when he heard a small tap on his window, he looked over shaking his head only to hear it again. He walked over to see Carson, Jake , and Thomas waving there arms .

He slid the window up a bit confused as to why is friends weren't in school. Especially when there the ones that are suppose to get him the missed work.

" yo Mace you mind opening the door, it's cold out here", Carson shouted

" coming". He shouted sliding the window back down and exiting the room, his parents were still asleep , his father called off because of the ceremony , his mom called off from her law firm so there was no reason for his mother to get up and make breakfast , since no one was expected to be anywhere not until this afternoon.

He bolted down the stairs , unlocking the door and opening it to reveal his three friends.

" what are you guys doing here?" He questioned

" you didn't think we'd leave you to prepare for your big day alone did you?" Jake asked letting himself in , the others following in his footsteps.

Thomas went straight to the fridge , the McCann house was always filled with goodies.
"Ouuuu buffalos ". He said holding up a bag of microwaveable wings

" not those, there are for after the change".Mason said He had been plotting on that bag of wings. The whole week.

" yo tommy get me something to drink". Carson told , Mason felt a great relief now that the boys had shown up.

" you feel any different ". Jake asked  waving his hand hand in front of Mason's face

" besides the ability to smell your hot ass breath from all the way over here , not much". He replied sarcastically
