Chapter 11: Night changes

The 'little brother' words echoing in Bright's mind.

"Alright. I don't want to test the water anymore. I will be honest.. I like you, phi..."

Bright doesn't let Win interrupts as he quickly continues his words, "Let me ask one more time. Am I only a little brother for you, phi?" He has it enough. The disappearance of Win for these past days making his life miserable. He is sure that he falls for the older.

Win does not really surprised by the confession but he doesn't know that Bright is this bold to tell him directly like this. Bright is still young. He might misunderstood Win's care for him and end up having fling towards Win.

He does not blame Bright. He forgot to put some distance between them making Bright too comfortable with him. How can he... Bright probably still confuses with his feeling.

"Yes, Bright. I treat you like my own brother." Win lies. "You still a kid. There are many things ahead of you that you not see or experience yet." Win pauses for awhile then continues again,

"Your brother, Foei is my friend. He asks me to take care of you while you are working here. Sorry, if I make you misunderstand my intention." Win hopes Bright stops pursuing him. But is this what he really wants?

"What?? You know p'Foei??" Bright suddenly laughs bitterly. "So, I am the stupid one here thinking that you treating me special because you might have feeling for me."

Win doesn't know what to say. He wants to say something but end up gulping back his words.

"Then, I'm sorry for my bold guessing." Bright locks his stares at Win for awhile before he turns his heel and walks out from the office.

"....." Win sighs for the umpteenth time. Bright seems mad at him.

He texts his friend, Foei and tell him about what happen. But he left out about Bright's confession. He just tell about Bright finding out about Foei asking him to take care of him and Bright gets mad at him because of that.

Foei is his friend. How could he dating a little brother whom his friend trusted to him to look after? What would Foei says about it? With the age gap... It's difficult. They can't. It won't work.

Foei knocks on his little brother room. Win told him about Bright storms out from the workplace today, seems in anger. He doesn't know why Bright is mad about it. He's not telling him about his friendship with Win because he doesn't want Bright feels pressure or feels like he gets into it because of connection.

He knows coincidentally about Bright working there after almost one week he is there. If Win not telling him a story about Bright, Foei will not find out. So, it just purely coincidence. But he doesn't think Bright will get mad for real just because of this. He needs to talk with his brother.

After a few knocks, the door is opened from inside. His brother turns his head and walks to his bed as if he already knows who's stand in front of his door. Foei walks inside and close the door.

"Phi, why didn't you tell me that you know my boss?" Bright asks. There is no trace of anger in his expression, but more to disappointed and frustrated.

Foei sits beside his brother and says, "I know about it after a week you're working there. I know you don't like if our family put finger in your bussiness, so that's why I didn't tell you about me and Win are friends. Are you mad at me because of this?"

Bright shakes his head making Foei confuses. "If so, why are you getting mad at my friend? He just do what I said. Don't get mad at him."

Bright let out a long sighs, "He told you I get mad at him because of that?"
