Double Take

Chapter 14: Red roses

Win arrives at his cafe quite late because he woke up a bit late today. Last night he can't sleep. He doesn't realized at what time he falls asleep but the last time he looks at the clock was around 3 AM.

The person that make him restless is the one who share similar face with him, Kavin. Lately Kavin often appears as if he is challenging him about something. He does remind Apo to report to him if Kavin creates another mess.

He knows Kavin mets Bright again. He doesn't know why Kavin looking interested with Bright. It worries him so much. Kavin is not good for that younger. He wants to warn Bright to stay away from Kavin but how? They had never spoken to each other since then.

With a swollen eyes he walks lazily to the cafe. When he passes over the counter, one of his staff calls out of his name and hands him a single red rose wraping inside a beautiful gold wrapper.

He lifts his eyebrows. Then his staff quickly explains as he smiles, "Someone give this to boss."

"Ooo.. who is it?" Win asks as he lowers his head looking at the beautiful rose on his hand.

"Delivery guy send it here boss. I think there is a card there. Maybe you can know who is the sender." The staff point out the card that hiding behind the ribbon.

Win then notices there is a small rectangular white card behind it. After he mutters thank you he walks to his office. As he sits down and put all of his stuff aside he looks again at the rose.

He opens the white card, however there is no sender information on it. Just a small info about the shop address and contact number. And there a few words he guess a love quote on it, probably is added by the shop owner.

He furrows his eyebrow. He doesn't has a slight idea about the sender. It could be just a prank or maybe his customer who fan over him. He does has small circle fans. Most of them are colleage students. They like to come to his shop and sometimes brings gift. He doesn't has the heart to reject.

However, usually those small fans of him rarely bought flower as Win says he is allergic to pollen. The gift normally has a sender card with a cute short letter written inside. Most of them write letter just to cheer him up. Because his appearance looks young, so the colleague students might think he is not reach 30 yet.

He stares at the rose again. He doesn't know how to take care a flower. If this rose died, it would be waste. He sends text to Mix, asking him to come to his office.

Not long after that, Mix enters the office.

"P'Win, what's the matter?"

"Do you know how to take care a flower?" Win asks calmly.

Mix frowns, doesn't understand why Win suddenly asks him about this.

"Actually, someone give me a rose but I don't know how to take care of it. Should I just let it inside the wrapper or should I put it inside the vase? But can we keep rose alive if we put in the vase? Should I use fertilizer or just pour some water to keep it alive?"

Mix, "........."

Win laughs when he sees Mix confuse expression. "Sorry if I talk too fast."

"Ahh.. Phi, I'm sorry, I also doesn't know  much how to take care a flower. I knows nothing phi about flowers." Mix smiles sheepishly. Then he continues, "Why don't phi try to search it on google?"

"Ahh right.. it's okay Mix. I will try to find a way."

Mix just about to excuse himself but Win calls out his name again making he turns his head.

Win doesn't hurriedly speak. He seems hesitates but after awhile he voices comes out, "How's Bright? Is he doing fine?"

Mix doesn't expect this question from Win, so he quite startled at first but quickly respond on next second, "Bright now is working at his family bussiness. He rarely hanging out with us anymore. We meet once awhile. He is doing good."
