Back on the surface, nighttime falls.
Chalice: Finally home. Elder Kettle is asleep, so he won't know where we have gone.
Cuphead doesn't say anything.
Chalice: Why don't you get some rest? I'll meet you there in a few minutes.
Cuphead nods and went upstairs. Chalice watched him go upstairs with a worried expression. Meanwhile, upstairs, Cuphead walks in his room and closes the door. He sits down against the door and hugs his knees.
Cuphead: Oh, Mugs.....I'm so sorry I couldn't save you.....
Cuphead's eyes well up with tears and he sat down on his bed, hugging his knees. Then, he held his brother's teddy close to him, crying. Chalice smiles softly.
Chailce's pov
I'm glad I was able to get him to let it all out.....I'll leave him be until he falls asleep.
Later, Cuphead is passed out on his bed, tear stains remaining on his cheeks. Chalice comes in the room quietly. Chalice layed comfortably on the floor and falls asleep.

Later, Cuphead started to toss and turn in bed with tears streaming down his face.
Cuphead: NO! (pant, pant)
Chalice opens her eyes to find Cuphead awake.
Chalice: Cuphead, are you okay? Did you have another nightmare?
Cuphead: Y-yeah....I don't know why....it was worse than the last one.....
Chailce: If you ever had a nightmare again, just wake me up, but not by yelling, okay?
Cuphead: Okay.....
Chalice: We'll get Mugman back, I promise. Get some rest, okay? I'll stay with ya until you fall asleep, is that okay with you??
Cuphead: Sure.....
Meanwhile, down in the hell.....
Mugman: (sigh)
Mugman looks down at his hand, which is covered in a bandage.
Mugman: I'm so sorry, Cuppy.....hopefully you'll come back for me soon.....
Mugman's heart started to crack in half.
