It's been a few days since Elder Kettle's death. Cuphead and Chalice are getting ready to rescue Mugman.
Chalice: You ready, Cups?
Cuphead: Almost.
Cuphead packed up some stuff in his bag, including his brother's teddy.
Cuphead: Now I'm ready.
Chailce: Here. You might need this.
Chailce holds the pitchfork.
Cuphead: How did you....?!
Chailce: Don't ask. You might need it to fight.
Cuphead: Alright.
Cuphead holds the pitchfork and he tears up a little.
Chailce: Hey, it's okay to be nervous. And I'm sure Mugman is too. Both of you miss each other. But we're gonna rescue him today. No matter what.
Cuphead: Thanks, I guess.....
Chailce: Good enough! Let's go!
Later, Cuphead and Chailce are armed and ready by the door.
Cuphead: Okay, 1.....
Chailce: 2.....
Cuphead & Chailce: 3!!
Both of them kicked down down the door.
Cuphead: Alright, Devil! Let my brother go!
Devil: What now?! Oh. It's you again.
Cuphead: Let my brother go!
Devil: I thought you didn't need him anymore.
Chailce: Shut it! You heard him! Let Mugman go!
Mugman: Guys! You came back!
Cuphead: MUGS!
Mugman: You came back for me!
Devil turns to Mugman angerly.
Devil: Shut your mouth before I smash your head.
Mugman squeezed his eyes shut in fear.
Cuphead: Don't hurt him!
Devil: Oh, yeah? And what are you gonna do about it?
Cuphead: Wel-
Then, Cuphead got hit in the head and got knocked unconscious.
Mugman: CUPHEAD!
Chailce: Cups!
Then, Chailce got knocked out as well.
Mugman: Chailce!
Devil: Henchman, throw all three of them in the cell.
Henchman:.....yes, Boss.
Later, Chailce woke up in the cell to find Mugman next to her.
Chalice: Mugs! Are you okay?
Mugman: Yeah....I'm okay, but.....
Cuphead is still passed out.
Mugman: He's still knocked out.
Chailce: He's not dead, he just got hit in the head.
Mugman: You guys came back for me.
Chailce: Of course we did.
Mugman: Thanks for looking after Cuphead. He has a phobia of being alone, so thanks for being there for him.
Chalice: Oh, that's why he has been having nightmares.
Mugman: He's been having nightmares?
Chailce: Ever since you were gone.
Mugman turns to Cuphead with sad eyes.
Mugman: Oh, Cups.....
Chailce: Is it true that you punched him?
Mugman: Yes.....but it was accident....I was just angry.....
Chailce: It wasn't your fault....it's the Devil's......he might've put those words in your head.
Mugman: You're probably right.....
Chailce: I'm gonna go rest. You two work it out when he wakes up.
Chailce lays down in a jail bed and falls asleep.
