The trio sat in the movie theater to wait for the movie to start. The bros sat next to each other while Chalice sat in a row above them.
Chalice: You excited for the movie, fellas?
Cuphead: Heck yeah!
Mugman: I....I'm not so sure.....
Cuphead: What do you mean, Mugs?
Mugman: We're seeing a scary movie.....I don't know if I can handle this.....
Cuphead: Don't worry, Mugs. I'm right next to you if you need me, okay?
Mugman: A-alright, Cups.
Chalice: Oh! The movie's starting! But it's just trailers for upcoming movies.
Cuphead: Oh.
Mugman looked at the one of the trailers in fear.
Cuphead: You good, bro?
Mugman shakes his head and gave a nervous smile.
Mugman: Y-yeah, I'm good.
Chalice: Hey, one of the trailers is not scary. It's cute!
Mugman turns to find a family-friendly trailer of a movie.
Mugman: Oh.
After the trailers are over, Mugman braced himself for the movie.
Cuphead: You can do this, bro.
Mugman: I can do this......
Halfway through the movie, Chalice watched in shock.
Chalice: Welp, she's dead. I warned her.
Cuphead: Yep. I knew that doll was trouble.
Chalice: That doll literally killed her by pushing her off a high building.
Cuphead: Good thing we didn't get see her horrible features.
Cuphead turns to Mugman, who looks horrified.
Cuphead: Um....you okay, Mugsy?
Mugman hid his face in his knees.
Cuphead: Mugs?
Chalice: You good?
Mugman: N-no.
Then, a jumpscare came on and Mugman clinged to Cuphead. Cuphead threw his hands up in a shock for a second.
Cuphead: Whoa, whoa, Mugs. It's okay.
Cuphead pats his brother's head in comfort. A bloody scene came on and Mugman covers his eyes.
Cuphead: Oh, my gosh.....
After the movie is over, Mugman is passed out after the jumpscare at the end.
Cuphead: Welp, that was traumatizing.
Chalice: Let's go back home and watch a movie that's not so scary.
Cuphead: Good idea.
Cuphead looks at Mugman, who is still passed out and Cuphead carries him in his arms.
Cuphead: He's gonna have nightmares tonight.....
Chalice: Yeah, this may be my fault.
Cuphead: Don't blame yourself. You didn't know.
Chalice:.......anyways, ready to go back home?
Cuphead: Yeah, I want to go home after all this. Next time, we will watch a not-so-scary movie.
Chalice: Noted.
Later, they arrived back home and Mugman wakes up on the couch.
Mugman: Huh.....?
Cuphead: Oh, Mugsy! You're awake! How are you feeling?
Mugman: Ugh, what happened?
Cuphead: You passed out before the movie ended.
Mugman looks around scared and faling his arms around.
Mugman: What was that sound?! Please don't hurt me, you scary doll!
Cuphead grabs his hands and Mugman looks at his brother in the eyes, his breath heavy.
Cuphead: Shh, Mugs. It's okay. The movie wasn't real. It's fake. There's no such thing as killer dolls. It was just acting.
Mugman: R-r-really?
Cuphead: Yeah.....now, breathe.
Mugman took some deep breaths and hugged his brother. Cuphead hugs back.
Cuphead: That's it. Breathe in and out.
After a few minutes, Mugman calmed down and Cuphead puts his arm around him.
Cuphead: See? Nothing to be scared of, as long as I'm here.
Mugman: Thanks, bro.
Cuphead: No problem, little bro.
Cuphead turns to Chalice.
Cuphead: Got that family movie in, Chalice?
Chalice: Yep! Let's watch it.
The movie was so relaxing, that Mugman fell asleep peacefully halfway through the movie. His head rests on his brother's shoulder and Cuphead couldn't do anything but smile. He puts his arm around his brother without waking him up. He watches the rest of the movie but fell asleep after a few minutes. His head rested on Mugman's and fell asleep peacefully. Chalice turns to bros to find them cuddling up to each other.
Chalice: Aww. I'm glad it all worked out now.
Chalice watches the rest of the movie by herself.
