Meanwhile, on the surface, Mugman and Chalice discussed a plan to get Cuphead's soul back.
Mugman: So....how are we gonna get his soul back?
Chalice: First, we need to defend ourselves. Got any weapons in mind?
Mugman: A sword?
Chalice: I love it. I'm gonna go with my ghost form to defend myself but I'm also gonna use a sword.
Mugman: Nice. So, what's next?
Chalice: One of us has to create a distraction while the other looks around to find Cuphead's soul.
Mugman: But what about Cuphead? He's still unconscious.
Chalice: I'll distract the Devil while you find Cuphead's soul.
Mugman: That's....a great plan!
Mugman looks at a motionless Cuphead. Tears prick his eyes. Mugman felt Chalice's hand on his shoulder.
Chalice: Hey. I know it's not gonna be easy but we're doing this for Cuphead.
Mugman wipes his eyes and smiles.
Mugman: You're right. We can do this. For Cuphead.
Chalice: Yeah!
Mugman stands up and carries his brother in his arms.
Mugman: Let's go get my brother's soul back.
Chalice: Heck yeah!

Meanwhile, in hell, Devil watched the whole thing from the mirror.
Devil: The mug and the girl want a fight, huh? Well, I'll give them one.
Henchman: Seriously, boss? You're gonna let them come down here?
Devil: If they want that cup's soul, they have to go through me first.
Henchman: Ah, that makes sense now.

In the soul vault, Cuphead's soul sat down in the corner with tears pricking his eyes.
Cuphead: I hope Mugs and Chalice will rescue me soon.....

Meanwhile, on the surface, Mugman(who is carrying Cuphead)and Chalice is ready to defend themselves and fight against the Devil.
Chalice: You ready, Mugs?
Mugman: Ready as I'll ever be. Let's go get my brother's soul back and stop The Devil once and for all.
Chalice: Heck yeah!
Chalice teleported the boys and herself to the doors of where hell is.
Chalice: (inhales and exhales) Let's do this.
Chalice opens the door and the Devil spotted her.
Devil: Well, well, well. Came for that cup's soul?
Chalice: I sure am!
Devil: You want a fight? Well, you got one.
The Devil and Chalice battled each other while Mugman snuck into another room where the soul vault is.
