The next day, Cuphead woke up to find Chalice still sleeping.
Cuphead's pov
It's quiet.....too quiet.....
Cuphead went downstairs. Chailce woke up to screaming.
Chalice: Cuphead, what did I just tell y-
Then, she notices that he's not in bed.
Chalice: What-
Then, she heard Cuphead screaming.
Chalice rans downstairs.
Chailce: Cuphead, what's wro-
Then, she looked down, horrified.
Chailce: !! Oh, my god.....
Elder Kettle is on the floor, not moving.
Chalice: I-I'm sure he's fine....
Chalice feels his chest and her eyes widened.
Chalice; N-no....this can't be happening.....
Cuphead: I-is he.....
Chalice: I'm afraid so.....
Cuphead's eyes well with tears but this time in anger.
Cuphead: WHY?! FIRST MUGMAN GOT CAPTURED, AND NOW ELDER KETTLE IS DEAD! WHY DO I HAVE THE WORST LUCK EVER?! THIS HAS GOT TO BE A DREAM. RIGHT?!
Chailce: Cuphead, calm do-
Cuphead: HOW CAN I BE CALM AT A TIME LIKE THIS?! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO LOSE SOMEONE YOU LOVE!
Chailce: You're right, I don't.....but please calm down....yelling ain't gonna solve anything.....
Cuphead: You're right.....(sniff)....I'm sorry.....
Chailce: It's okay.....you're in pain.....I know you didn't mean that.....
Cuphead hugs Chailce.
Cuphead: I'm sorry. You didn't deserve to be yelled at.
Chalice: It's fine, really. You don't have to apologize. It's okay.
Chalice pats Cuphead's back in comfort.
Chalice: It's okay.
Cuphead broke the hug and looks down.
Cuphead: So....what now? Wanna help me bury him?
Chailce: Sure.
Cuphead: By the way, I know he's not fully dead.
Chalice: Yeah, same. Let's just do it just for fun.
After that......
Chalice: Okay, you ready to cook up a plan to save Mugman?
Cuphead: Yep.
Chalice: Really? After he hurted you?
Cuphead: I forgave him a long time ago....besides, I know he didn't mean to hurt me.....
Chalice: Wow....anyways, let's do this.....
