Jiang Cheng lighted incense and sat down on the hard wooden ground. It was deep in the night, no one was awake but him. He lifted his jar of Emperor's Smile and took a satisfying gulp.

He had been shut in his office the whole day and he had needed some fresh air. But how he ended up here was completely beyond him. And today of all days.

Anyone you asked would say that his hatred of Wei Wuxian was legendary. And it was.

But today was the anniversary of the man's death. He looked at the memorial tablet he never displayed in the Jiang clan's Ancestral Hall.

His conflicting feelings were making his head hurt. With Jiang Yanli's death, he had no idea how he should see his former brother. It has been 13 years since the fateful day when Wei Wuxian let his own fierce corpses shred him to pieces after he had pushed Jiang Cheng away. He had been smiling back then.

Jiang Cheng rubbed the root of his nose and lifted the jar of Emperor's Smile. The wine was making him remember.

He poured a little onto the floor of Wei Wuxian's former room. An offering.
