V x Thad and implied N x Uzi. Angst and fluff.

Proofread✔V shut down the memory. All those times with J were lost. No more giggling like kids and running through the snow. She sobbed, just looking around reminded her of the good times. No more of them to be shared with J, so instead she sat there letting reality sink in. She had been captured by the male disassembly drone in her squad and the purple haired worker drone, and the death of J was finally sinking in.
She was going to capture that little worker and tear her apart. The memory of the green flash emitted from the worker's gun angered her more. It didn't feel real at first. At first, she could just look away from the pile of wires left over from her love's body. Now, though, it came crashing down on her. It was real. There was nothing she could do to take back what she lost.
All she had now were memories. She opened up her memory file storage and replayed a few of her favourites. She hated that purple worker, but even if she was free, she wasn't sure she'd have the mental strength to do it. She slipped into a restless and fitful sleep, reliving each horrid moment of yesterday when J was killed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A loud bang and laughter accompanied by an unknown male voice. V's visor stayed shut down, but she was awake. She used the sensors on her headband to see what woke her up. The male disassembly drone, purple haired worker, and a seemingly familiar male worker with blonde hair and a cap were the culprits.
"Is that the one?" The male worker asked, pointing to V. V thought it felt strange to be pointed out. "Yeah, that's V." My coworker, whose name eluded me, affirmed. "Oh" the male worker breathed out. There was a moment if silence. "She- she's kinda pretty, don't you think?" He asked quietly after a moment.
Purple haired worker looked at him, seeming very surprised. "Well, I guess so in a very murder-y way..." She grumbled.
"Uzi, want me to show you around?" The male disassembly drone asked the purple haired worker, effectively changing the subject.
V made sure to remember the purple haired worker as Uzi.
"Sure, N." Uzi mumbled, seemingly irritated at something."Stay safe, Thad!" Uzi called out to the male worker. V noted his name as well. N seemed jealous of something. V watched with her visor still blanked as Thad walked closer to her. He tilted his head, seemingly studying her. "Cool..." She heard him whisper to what he thought was only himself.
V decided turn on her display visor and see how much it scared the crouching drone in front of her. The answer, was very much. Thad seemed to jump back a few feet when he saw V's display visor on. He didn't seem to know much about disassembly drone anatomy, or else he would've known she was awake and watching the whole time.
"Hey," Thad said, grinning after a moment.
"Hey..." V greeted him much less enthusiastically.
Thad coughed awkwardly. "I- uhh... I'm Thad!" He introduced himself.
"V." She spat in response.Thad sat down criss-cross applesauce style about three feet from V. V noticed this. "I don't bite." She found herself inviting the worker closer. As soon as she said it, she wasn't sure why she said it. She did bite. It was quite literally her job. "Well, I uh- I mean... I do bite, but I won't." She found herself stammering.
She still wasn't sure why she was saying this. Thad seemed just as confused as she did. "Well- uhh.. Okay then?" He blinked, confused. "Nice to meet you." V prompted him to see what he'd say. She wanted to hear him talk. He was interesting to her.
"You too?" Thad somehow seems more confused now than before. "Did you know that other murder drone Uzi shot?" He questioned her. V felt like the world dropped from around her. She was doing just fine until he mentioned J. Memories came flooding back, and she had to push it all away to properly answer Thad.
"Yeah. She was my partner." V replied trying to keep a blank face.
"Romantically?" Thad asked.
V nodded, "Gone now though." V laughed dryly.
"Ah..." Thad looked down guiltily and nodded slowly."You wanna talk about it?" He asked, scooting closer to V to try and comfort her. "Maybe..." V replied cautiously, biting the inside of her mouth uncertainly. It was unusual, but she felt a calm and comforting pull to this drone.
"Actually, there isn't much to talk about. Uzi shot her and she's gone now. There's no way to get her back, or for Uzi to take it back." V spat out the words venomously.
Thad blinked in surprise at the sudden mood change. "What was she like?" He questioned quietly. V found herself smiling at the thought of her lost partner. "She was so confident and precise in everything she did. How could I not look up to and love someone like her? She had an air of authority and always put drones out of line back in their place." V ranted lovingly.
Thad nodded, scooting closer yet and leaning against V as she continued to rant. V was letting the aching memories pour out of her wounded soul, and Thad was learning murder drones were capable of more than murdering: that they were capable of love, too.
V paused, looking at Thad leaning against her side and wondering when he got there. She felt her visor display a blush protocol and looked away so Thad didn't see. She didn't know, but it was a bit too late. Thad saw, and he as well was capable of love.
Thad smiled, "Wanna keep talking?" The softness in his voice as he spoke calmed V and made her feel safe. She would definitely remember this worker's name. "Yeah, I do. Thank you."
