Takes place after ep 3
Angst D: (bit of gory stuff, but not that bad imo)
Powered on monster while writing this, so probably not the most coherent of my incoherent babbles...

Uzi sprinted through the snow, trying to get away. She'd decided to move in with V and N to get away from her dad's newfound tries at communicating. She definitely wished he'd gone back to being negligent, as these new attempts to talk to her were more attempts to change who she was than anything else. Yet, moving into the tower didn't feel like home.
It was morning right now, N and V were sleeping and Uzi just had to get out of there. The colony was made of winding corridors and doors that screamed "HIDE, HIDE, HIDE, SAFE, SAFE, SAFE." While Uzi had grown to hate the doors, she did find the hallways to be somewhat homely. More so familiar. It was all she had ever known, really.
So, now the open space felt sickeningly unfamiliar. Her mind was screaming "VULNERABLE, VULNERABLE, FEAR, FEAR." She just needed a moment to get away from the sight of death and open walls.
Uzi tumbled through the snow, tripping over the now untied shoelaces of her platforms. Uzi groaned into the snow, pushing herself up and sitting with one leg out and the other up so she could tie her boot. Uzi finished the knot in the laces, then wiped snow clumps off of her visor with a grunt.
Uzi pushed herself up, cracking her mechanical spine aggressively and moved to crack her neck when she spotted something. She didn't think she'd ever been out this far from the colony in this direction, so it made sense she didn't recognise some of the structures. This one was different though.
It was a large, glass paned building with the panels being frosted to the point Uzi almost couldn't see through.
Almost.
Lush green was inside, and the green was unlike the neon colour of some of the other worker's eye displays. It was a deep and lush green. A green that intrigued her. It didn't look dangerous, so Uzi edged towards the structure and pushed the door open.
It was a greenhouse. Plants hidden in glass tanks survived, some heat source keeping the inside from getting too cold. Uzi had no clue how the place has survived when the rest of Copper-9's life was wiped out. Beautiful flowers with different shapes and colours sprouted in messy rows, the place clearly hadn't been kept up with in a while.
Uzi smiled, feeling the panic she'd been overwhelmed with earlier fade away. There was a certain wonder she hadn't felt in years brought on by these plants. Flowers managed to survive the explosion of the planet and the cold. She could survive a new home.
A stabbing feeling. Uzi sat down on the floor of the greenhouse, thinking. There was more to the situation than just being scared of a new home. There were feelings she hadn't confronted yet. Uzi wringed her wrists, humming uncertainly. She felt sick.
Uzi looked up at the flowers, bringing her knees up to her chest and rocking back and forth to calm herself.
Two yellow tulips.
A wave of nausea overcame her and she fell to her side, whining. She couldn't do this. Uzi clawed the floor, breathing coming out in gasps. She couldn't afford attachments. Thad was a small crush, something she knew she was strong enough to get over. But the two yellow tulips loomed on the shelf above her from their planters, reminding her this was a fall she couldn't recover from. She couldn't deal with this right now.
A warm smile from N, twirling her around at prom. She wished they hadn't been fighting Doll, because she really wanted for the two of them to actually dance. Her heart ached and she curled into a tighter ball. V fighting with them to take down Doll, Uzi watching in amazement. She needed to get the pain out of her chest. She had plans, and that meant she had no time to act like a love-sick fool. She needed to focus.
