"Adopted By" Oneshots!

My Past Self

AN: This is inspired by the TikTok trend of people having conversations with their past selves, so have the Adopted Bys' convos with themselves pre-adoption!

Each kid will have a "conversation" with themself either the year before or the exact year they got adopted, and age markers will still be provided. The past kid's side of the convo will be in bold italics and the current kid's side will be in normal lettering. Enjoy!

Hey, love. Of course, ask away.

Did Dad get any better?
No, sweetie, he didn't. That's why we got adopted.

We did? By who?
This nice woman named Elle, we love her more than anything.

How did she find us?
Well.. Dad pinned us against a wall when he found out we were planning on running for Student Government, and Elle found us there.

Oh. What about Elissa? Did she ever come home?
She did, sweetie, but she died a couple of years ago now. She has a daughter, our aunt took her in once she died.

Aunt? We never had an aunt before...
We have two aunts, Katie and Jessica! We also have two brothers and two sisters, Alice, Evan, Jon, and Barrett. We love them so much. We also have a dad, Ryan, but he's not married to Elle.

Oh, that's cool! Did we ever get a boyfriend?
We had boyfriends in middle school, but we have a girlfriend now! Her name is Red and we love her more than life itself.

Do we still go to private school?
No, sweetie, we're a senior now! We go to this amazing public high school and we have lots of friends.

Are we still on Student Council?
Yep! We've been involved with it all four years of high school.

What else do we like to do?
We danced in middle school, we were on the competition team for ballet. We also play saxophone and sometimes act!

Okay, one more question. After we got adopted...did things get better? Are we okay?
It's been hard, sweetie, I won't lie to you. I mean...our aunt and dad got in a car crash and then we got in a car crash and were nearly paralyzed. But let me tell you this: with our family, Red, and our friends by our side, we'll make it.

Hi! Do we still do derby?
Yeah! We're actually a professional derby girl now. 

Woah, cool! Does Mom still work those long ass hours? Do we still take care of Rosie and Sloan?
Not exactly...how do I explain this...we got kicked out. Mom got laid off and told us to get out of the house and she would take care of the other two girls. She just couldn't afford 3 children anymore.

Oh. So where do we live?
We got adopted! Our dad's name is Grey, he's the coolest. And get this, he was on Broadway. 

Woah! I've always wanted for a Broadway star to notice me, I guess we got more than we asked for! How's Lex?
Um...she- she passed away. I'm so sorry. I know how much you loved her- and we loved her. Before Eliana came along, she was the love of our life. 

Who's Eliana?
Our current girlfriend! She's really sweet and funny, and not to mention extremely hot, but she's gotten us through so much shit, it's unbelievable.
