Catlynn's POV

"Mama!" a small voice said from behind the door of Josie Block's apartment as I approached. "Catlynn's here!"

Josie opened the door for me and she attached herself to my legs. "Mama! Get out so I can hang out with Catlynn!"

"I've never seen you want to get rid of me so quickly, Josie, are you feeling okay?" Stephanie said. Josie started bouncing up and down and then said, "But Catlynn's nice!"

Stephanie laughed a little. "Catlynn, can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Of course!" I said, and Stephanie pulled me aside. "Thank you for doing this. It's been a little hard to find a babysitter for Josie because of her separation anxiety, and she seems so excited that you're here. I'm hoping the night goes well." She then pulled out her wallet and looked to me. "Is $50 okay?"

"Oh, no, please don't pay me. Josie's a good kid, I'm happy to do this for free." I said. Stephanie sighed and said, "At least let me drive you home."

"That won't be necessary, my mom's got it. You deserve a night off." I said sweetly. Stephanie sighed and gave Josie a big hug. "Be good for Catlynn, okay baby? I love you."

"I love you too, Mama! Bye!" Josie said, practically shoving Stephanie out the door. Once the door slammed closed, I looked to the ten year old in confusion. "What's the look for?" she asked.

"Mama's not home! I can have candy and coffee and no one's gonna rat me out! This is great!" Josie screeched, going into the cabinet for a coffee mug. I sighed and said, "Your mama's gonna kill me, you know that right?"

"I once watched a horror movie with my uncles and Mama didn't give a flying crap."

"Josephine Trina! Language!"

"I've said worse." Josie said with a smirk on her face. "Uncle Christian once let me stand on a chair and yell the F word, and it just so happened that Mama knocked on the door to pick me up right then and there. And I didn't get in trouble!"

I rolled my eyes and laughed at the little ten year old. "I brought some board games with me." I said, digging in the bag I brought with me.

"Catlynn?" Josie asked.

"Yeah, kiddo?"

"Can we watch a movie?" Josie asked. I laughed and said, "Sure, Josie. Just make sure it's appropriate for a kid your age. I don't want your mama to yell at me."

"Daddy would let me watch PG-13." Josie said in a sweet, innocent voice. I sighed and said, "Fine, we can watch PG-13."

Josie squealed a little and got some microwave popcorn. "You ready, Catlynn?" Josie said, fumbling with the microwave.

"UH, CAT?" Josie asked after a few minutes.

"Yeah?"

"The microwave is on fire."
