Re: PARIS!!

HEY!!!!!

So, are you in Paris?? Is it fabulous?? I am so jealous you're in freaking France and I'm stuck here in dumb old Kansas. Just FYI but Mom's totally wigging, she's convinced you're going to get kidnapped and sold into white slavery. Like hello Mom Taken was just a movie, paranoid much.

Anyway, I want ALL the details. Everything! How was the flight? Who did you sit next to? Was it some fat guy who took off his shoes and smelled like armpit hair? What did you eat? Was Henri totally shocked to see you? Did you guys have an amazing kiss on his doorstep? Did he take you out for a romantic dinner? Have you seen the Eiffel Tower? Is it everything and more than you expected? Did you try out any of your high school French? Meet any hot boys? Not that you'd consider anything because you have Henri, so jealous of that also!!

But most important WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO EMAIL ME BACK?? I'm dying over here. Oops, that's Mom I've got dance class. I hope I don't get partnered with Billy. I mean how does a boy with the name Billy become a dancer. Jesus sure fucked up that one.

XOXO,

Lizzie

P.S. Your response to my email better be longer than this!

I should have shaved my legs.

That's what Kate Perryman was thinking as she rode the rambling subway to Montparnasse from the airport in Paris, France of which she had been an occupant for approximately forty-two minutes.

Montparnasse was where Henri De La Fontaine lived. Henri had been a foreign exchange student in Kate's last semester at the University of Kansas. They'd had one class together, communications, which Kate had always found rather hilarious. The two had developed a close friendship and just before Henri went back to France, they spent an amazing night together. Of course, it didn't go as far as Henri was hoping but Kate, who had only ever slept with one guy, wasn't in the mood to have a repeat of what she now called the Sherman Fiasco. After Ian Sherman, her boyfriend sophomore year at UOK. It had been a disaster and Kate swore the next time would be better. In hindsight she hadn't thought that would take nearly two years, but good things always came to those who wait right? But after Henri had left Kate had some time to reflect and she realized how dumb she was being, Henri was a great guy, what wasn't to like? He was tall, with dark curly hair, hazel eyes, chiseled features, and a rock-hard body. Henri was also kind and well mannered. He planned on becoming a dentist and spoke highly of his three older sisters. And seriously? What was she waiting for? The perfect man? There were plenty of rom com's out there that proved perfect wasn't always better for example Clueless, Sweet Home Alabama and Made of Honor.

Henri had said that if she was ever in France, she must look him up. So now that Kate had graduated with her degree in English minor in creative writing Kate was spending the first two weeks of her new-found freedom in Paris with; Henri. Of course, Kate hadn't told him beforehand that she was coming and now as Kate checked her metro schedule and determined her stop was next, she felt her first moment of panic.

What if Henri wasn't happy to see her? What if he wasn't home? What would Kate do then? But she couldn't let those thoughts scare her, everything would probably be fine. Henri will greet her with his trademark smile, give her a big hug and kisses on both cheeks then invite her in for some café au lait and some yummy pastries.
