You needn't be so snippy about Diana. It was merely a suggestion that she come stay with you. I wouldn't have mentioned anything had I known your reaction would be so callous.

I'm glad you had a nice holiday. Has your hair grown out at all?

There's so much to do with Diana's wedding this weekend! Your Aunt Emily put me in charge of the goody bags to distribute to guests staying at the hotel near the reception. Did I tell you what they will be serving? Vegetarian lasagna and cheese ravioli with garlic bread and a vegetable medley. Apparently, Diana doesn't eat meat anymore! I don't think this fad will last very long. You're father's quite disappointed though. He really wanted a steak. The food will also be served family style which is a bit tacky if you ask me. But they didn't have very much time to put this wedding together. Between you and me I think Diana may be "expecting."

Now we just have to pray this storm doesn't interfere with the wedding! It's supposed to be quite bad. Your father went a bit overboard buying spam and other canned food. But you know him, he always has to be prepared.

I'm not sure what is going on with Lizzie. One minute she likes Billy, the next she hates him. Strange girl. I don't know what's so complicated. It's obvious she likes him. Has she told you anything????

Kate was in for quite a shock when they returned to Chateau de Langlois the next day. She was in her room with Elodie unpacking her things and playing with Rue de Lepic, who Elodie assured her was doing fine but had certainly missed Kate while she was gone, when her bedroom door opened, and Kiki stepped inside.

At first Kate could only stare at her. Sure, she was seeing a mirage. What was Kiki doing here? When did she arrive? And why wouldn't she tell her that she was coming?

"I know, I know, I know what the fuck am I doing here right?" Kiki said, sitting on Kate's bed.

She was wearing white shorts and a lime green tank top with black flip flops. Her ebony hair twisted into a messy bun atop her head.

"Um yeah what you said." Kate repeated, still trying to process the fact that her best friend was in France.

"Alec proposed." Kiki admitted forlornly.

Most girls would be ecstatic if their boyfriend proposed. Kate certainly would be! But Kiki looked like her dog had just died.

"Okay, and that's a bad thing?" Kate asked tentatively sitting beside Kiki and nodding at Elodie to leave them alone.

After placing the clothes in her hands into the open drawer in front of her, Elodie discreetly left the room, closing the door behind her.

"I don't know!" Kiki wailed. "I wasn't expecting this, Kate! He did it when we were playing mini golf. As usual I was winning. But somehow on the last hole he got a hole in one and when he went to retrieve it, he turned around and was kneeling. But instead of holding a golf ball it was a ring and then he was asking me to marry him!"
