Re: Crisis Averted!

The tornado missed us! Although, it wasn't even a tornado. Just heavy rain with some hail. I wish I could have a job like a weatherman and get paid for being wrong all the time! Anyway, mom is happy the wedding will proceed as planned. I, however, will not be wearing the dress she picked out. It's July! Why would I wear anything long sleeved and made of velvet no less! She's crazy! I found a nice strapless burgundy dress at Macy's. It goes to the knees, and I bought a matching wrap to compliment it so mom can't complain! Maybe dad when he gets the bill lol. I modeled the dress for Billy, and he really liked it! Of course, it's not like he'd say if he didn't though, right? Portia's party is on Sunday. I'm a little nervous about how that will go. I don't want my friends thinking that just because I show up with Billy he's my boyfriend. We're just friends!

As for Henri I wouldn't be so sure he finds you. If he was over your relationship, he wouldn't keep contacting you or insisting on speaking in person. I'd be prepared if he does show up. Not that there's anything he could say to change your mind!

As for Jeremy, you say he's in love with you but are you in love with him?

Wishing tomorrow was over already.

Lizzie

P.S. Billy says Bill makes him sound old! Well Billy sounds like he's a toddler!

P.P.S. I'm borrowing your Kate Spade clutch.

Kate and Kiki spent the next day lounging by the pool.

Kate apologized to Jeremy for Kiki's unexpected arrival and assured him she had no idea of her plans. He told her not to worry and take all the time she needed with Kiki. As usual he was being kind and considerate. It only made Kate like him more! But something was going on with him and she needed to find out what!

"Does Alec know you're here?" Kate asked, putting on sunscreen.

"Yes, I said you had invited me, and I'd just forgotten to mention it."

"And he believed that?" Kate asked, surprised.

Kiki shook her head. "I don't think so. But you know Alec, he's not one to start an argument over something petty."

The weather had cooperated for their pool day. Sunny and warm with just the slightest breeze to keep them from overheating. Jeremy's dad was in his garden, while his mom was off visiting a friend, so they didn't need to worry about being interrupted. While the pool looked beautiful sparkling in the bright sun, Kate was more interested in working on her tan. Maybe she would take a nighttime dip with Jeremy, she thought. And try to get him to admit what's going on with him!

"Can you do my back?" Kate asked, holding the sunscreen bottle out to Kiki.

She took it and began spreading lotion over Kate's upper back.

"You think I should say yes, right?"

"Honestly, if I was you yeah that's the choice I'd make. But if you're hesitating there is a reason for that, and marriage is serious and permanent, so you need to be sure if you accept."

Kiki finished and set the bottle on the table between their lounge chairs.

"I guess I'm afraid if we get married, we won't have fun anymore."
