Re: The ONE thing I'm missing!!!

Since you asked. NO, I DID NOT GET HARRY STYLES AUTOGRAPH!!! They have ridiculously good security around that boy! The concert was packed, Portia and I were pretty far away but we could hear everything really well! Of course, it would have been better if mom hadn't dropped us off and reminded us to keep our bras on and not give our phone numbers out to any guys. Like, who does she think we are? She's so weird. Also, the food, horrendous! Never buying a hot dog at another concert again. I'm sticking with nachos from now on.

Now, Portia's pool party. I took your advice and Billy, and I performed one of our routines, a samba. My friends were impressed! Billy always looks more appealing when he's dancing. Not much of a swimmer though. I made sure it was clear Billy and I were just friends. Surprisingly, they seemed to like him and his odd knowledge about movie theater candy. Did you know the first candy sold in movie theaters was Good and Plenty? Think grandma's pillbox.

I'm sure you've already heard about Diana's wedding from mom. The highlight for me was when Diana's husband dipped her during their first dance. You could really see her baby bump then!

So, what happened with Kiki? Did she accept Alec's proposal?

I'm still so mad I didn't get Harry's autograph!

Lizzie

P.S. Your Kate Spade clutch is fine!

P.P.S., They didn't even have a program for the wedding!!!

Henri's insistence that he needed to speak with Kate turned out, unsurprisingly to Kate, not to be true. He was far too enamored and occupied with Bernadette to care about fixing his relationship with her.

The next day neither made an appearance at breakfast and Elodie confided to Kate the maids were instructed not to interrupt them.

"But they barely know each other!" Kate exclaimed to Jeremy as they strolled through the gardens, waving to Mr. LeClair as he tended his prize roses and instructed the head gardener Phillippe the proper way to prune them. It was another sunny hot day. Kate wore a strapless flowered sundress and leather sandals. Jeremy to her surprise had produced a New York Yankees baseball cap that he paired with a navy-blue T-shirt and khaki shorts.

"That's not always a factor for everyone." Jeremy replied.

"Well, it's gross. I'd never sleep with someone I just met."

"Neither would I." Jeremy concurred.

Kate wanted to laugh as his statement couldn't be truer, but she knew that wouldn't be appropriate.

"I heard them again last night." Kate confided wanting to change the subject.

"Henri and Bernadette?" Jeremy asked, confused.

"NO!" Kate cried, shoving him a bit, "Juliette and Adaline."

"Oh," his expression cleared with understanding. "That makes more sense. And?"

"It was the same. Talking about Juliette disappearing with Marc. The only thing slightly different was that someone opened the door."

"Marc?"

"I don't know. I only heard the sisters."

"The third set up footsteps couldn't have been Marc's. He was found dead, someone else had to arrive and leave with the sisters."

"Yes, but who?"

They reached the fountain square and sat down on one of the many benches.

"Honestly, it could be anyone. A servant, one of their parents, a guest staying at the chateau."

"Juliette must have really loved him if she was willing to throw away her whole life." Kate commented.

"Yes, unless there was another reason."

"What other reason could there be?" Kate asked, surprised.

"Maybe she just wanted to live a different life and Marc was offering her that chance."

"Is that how you feel?" Kate asked.

"Sometimes. Do I think I could be a good lawyer? Yes. Is it going to be the reason I get up every morning and the purpose I need in my life? Probably not."

"You can still write. Oh god! I just remembered I still haven't read your book! Jeremy, I'm so sorry!!" Kate gushed, taking his hand in hers.

He smiled kindly. "It's okay. I understand, with Kiki and now Bernadette and Henri there have been a lot of distractions."

"Still, I'm going to start today. I'll have it finished before I return to Kansas." Kate promised.

"I wish you didn't have to go." Jeremy said sadly.

"Me either. I love it here and spending time with you." Kate leaned her head on Jeremy's shoulder.

"Kate, I want to tell you something."

"Yes," Kate raised her head.

"No, I don't want you to look at me while I say this."

"Okay," Kate said curiously, turning to the side.

But then Jeremy reached over and slowly turned her head to face him.

"Kate, I love you." He murmured in a deep husky voice thick with emotion.

Kate was shocked and happy all at once. She couldn't believe Jeremy was telling her this. After all the time she spent agonizing why he didn't want to sleep with her. And now she knew he loved her!

"I love you too." Kate answered in a shaky voice.

"I wasn't expecting you to say it back." He told her.

"But I want to." She insisted. "I mean it."

"You do?" Jeremy asked skeptically.

"Yes, of course!"

Jeremy kissed her and Kate forgot all about the Chevalier sisters and Henri and Bernadette and what they were doing and what she was going to do with her life. In Jeremy's arms kissing him passionately, she knew with him it would all work out.

Re: The ONE thing I'm missing!!!

Sorry you didn't get Harry's autograph. But you knew that was a long shot. At least you got to see him in person, even if it was from a very far distance away lol. In better news, Jeremy told me he loved me!! He said it so sweetly too. Like I'd never been with a guy so genuine and kind! And since I know, you are going to ask, no we still haven't done it. I thought maybe after that, but we got interrupted by Jeremy's dad and the gardener and had to go judge his roses and the best technique for pruning.

Yes, Kiki accepted Alec's proposal. But don't hold your breath on a wedding date. But the real excitement around here has been the arrival of Jeremy's "friend" Bernadette and Henri! Yep, you read that right, Henri actually showed up here. But not to rekindle our relationship he's basically been having sex with Bernadette since he got here. Supposedly, she and Jeremy are childhood friends. But not childhood friends like Jeremy and I are! I don't buy her story about her apartment being refurbished either!

I can't believe I'll be home in a few weeks. The summer has flown by. I really need to start cracking down and figure out what to do with the rest of my life? Any suggestions?

Love,

Kate

P.S. If I haven't already mentioned Jeremy, is an excellent kisser!

P.P.S. What? No, programs? First cupcakes instead of cake and now this? What kind of tacky wedding did Diana plan? I'm glad I wasn't there. Let me guess the DJ played "Shout?"
