Re: Diana's Wedding!

Well, I for one am glad that the wedding is over! You're Aunt Emily was a complete pill the entire time. As if it really mattered that every goody bag had gum AND peanuts. I told her chips and tic tacs would be better, but does she listen to me? Of course not! She should be grateful I put anything together! And Diana's dress! All pouf and lace. It was quite obvious to ME she was trying to hide something. I paid careful attention. She did not drink any alcohol. But do you think your Aunt Emily would admit she's pregnant? Oh no! She says it's in poor taste when the bride and groom get drunk at their own wedding. Yet, Diana's dear husband sure seemed to be putting away the beers! Poor thing, he obviously had no say in the matter. I wonder if that was Diana's plan all along to trap him? Do you think you could find that out for me?

Anyway, the food as I said before was nothing exciting. The ceremony was lovely I suppose, though I do still wish you could have been there. As for the cake? They didn't even serve any! It was cupcakes! And I thought the family style food was tacky! Who wants cupcakes at a wedding?

But enough of that. Have you thought of getting a beret to cover your hair?

As for Kiki's, she's a fool not to say yes to Alec. A good Jewish boy like that is hard to come by! Hope you two have a nice visit. And prior to what Lizzie says the dress I picked out for her was a good choice. She always looks so nice in green. What's wrong with velvet I ask you?

Safe Travels!

Mom

P.S. Kate, please do not tell me you are coming home with a cat.

P.P.S. I found out Diana is having a girl! One of her bridesmaids told me in the bathroom. She was quite intoxicated. I held her hair back while she vomited. But this secret stays between us!!

Kiki left that morning to fly back to Kansas. She said the fresh countryside cleared her mind and ultimately it came down to whether she could stand not to have Alec in her life. She determined she could not so she was going to accept Alec's proposal on the condition he understood they would have a long engagement. She also asked Kate to be her maid of honor before leaving and Kate of course said she would!

After their breakfast of chocolate croissants and avocado toast Jeremy told Kate he wanted to show her something.

"I've been thinking about the Chevalier sisters." He informed her as she followed him up a narrow spiral staircase.

"Oh? Is that wise?" Kate asked, grinning.

"Well thanks to Kiki's unexpected visit I had plenty of time to think. And I remembered this room."

They reached the stop of the stairs and Jeremy led Kate down a dusty hallway.

"I take it people don't come up here often?" Kate said sneezing.

"Obviously not. Here we are."

Jeremy pushed open a door and Kate followed him inside.

The room was circular with a series of windows overlooking Mr. Le Clair's Garden.

"This was the music room." Jeremy explained.

Then Kate noticed the black piano.

"I've been told the Chevalier sisters took lessons here. Though neither were very good. Eventually, they gave up when they reached their teen years."
