Re: You and Your Notions!
We placed third in the competition! Miss Laney was very happy with our performance! But thanks to you instead of thinking of Billy as the dorky guy I dance with, I kept imagining what it would be like if he were my boyfriend. Eww! I can't believe I just wrote that! Maybe this whole time Billy's been brainwashing me. Like he's secretly a superhero and has the ability to make girls way out of his league fall in love with him. But just to appease you I invited Billy to come with me to Portia's this weekend. She's having a pool party. I'm hoping he keeps his T-shirt on!
Sounds like you are having a good time in southern France! I hope that means the shopping is excellent as well! Only a few more days until Diana's wedding. Mom seems kind of miffed about something you said in your last email. So, I'd watch it when you talk to her next!
There have been reports a bad storm is heading our way and may evolve into a tornado. Of course, mom is only worried how this may affect the wedding but Dad being Dad is stocking the basement with non-perishables and plenty of water. I sincerely hope I do not get stuck barricaded with those two down there!
TTYL,
Lizzie
P.S. I suppose William is better than Billy. But why doesn't he go by Will then why Billy???
P.P.S. Mom wanted me to remind you to use sunscreen. I told her that wasn't the kind of protection she should be worried about...just kidding!!!
The train ride to Cannes was a little longer than the one to Monaco about, forty minutes but the day was no less beautiful. Kate hadn't heard back from Henri, and she was hoping things stayed that way!
Their first stop was the iconic red carpet at the Palais des Festivals. After taking a few pictures they walked along observing the many handprints of famous actresses and actors such as Meryl Streep, Whoopi Goldberg, and Meg Ryan.
Next, they walked along the promenade for a bit then decided to have lunch. They shared a ninja pizza which was topped with ham and pineapple and a bottle of red wine, but Kate thought it was a bit strong or more accurately to dry in her opinion. They had noticed an older gentleman sitting near them ordering chocolate mousse and it looked so good they decided to order it too. Even though they'd just had it the night before, Kate was always up for chocolate mousse!
At the suggestion of their waiter, they stop at Meiynard street to browse the shops. But the only thing Kate bought were some Macaroons.
As the day wound down, they found themselves on the beach watching the sunset.
"There's something I've been meaning to ask you." Jeremy began his arm around her shoulders.
"Yes?" Kate asked hopefully. Although it would be a bit odd if he asked if she wanted to sleep with him.
"Would you read my novel?"
Kate looked at him. He seemed so insecure. Like he really thought there was a chance she might say no. It was kind of sweet actually.
"Of course, I will!" She said happily. "What's it about?"
"You'll see." He answered, mischievously.
"That's it?" Kate asked, shocked. "You're not going to tell me anything?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
"So secretive. Should I be worried?"
Jeremy shook his head.
"Okay, well I look forward to reading it. I can't believe we're going back tomorrow! These past few days went by so quickly."
"They did." Jeremy agreed. "But I've had a great time."
"Me too." Kate concurred. "I'm glad you suggested we get away."
"We both needed it."
"Yeah, but I do miss Rue de Lepic."
Jeremy smiled. "What will you do when you go home?"
Kate frowned. "I don't want to think about that."
They stayed on the beach until it was dark then caught the train back to Nice and walked through Place Massena. Kate noticed for the first time the statues on top of the poles glowed in different colors at night.
"How did I miss that?" she asked Jeremy.
"I guess you never looked up." He said laughing.
Back at the hotel they showered and got ready for bed.
"You know how special you are to me right?" Jeremy asked as he held her.
Kate squeezed his hand.
"Yes, Jer I know. I feel the same way."
They kissed and shortly after Jeremy was sleeping. But Kate stayed awake thinking. What was going to happen when she went back to Kansas and Jeremy started law school? As much as she wanted to further their relationship physically more than that she didn't want to lose him as part of her life.

Re: You and Your Notions
Congratulations! I knew you guys would do good! And oh my god! You are so crazy! He's not brainwashing you! Billy is just a nice, sweet guy! Like I've been saying this whole time! I bet Portia will think so too when she meets him. He must have been really happy when you invited him!
Moms probably just mad I won't let Diana come and stay at Château de Langlois. But like I told her I'm a guest here! I can't have my family dropping by for free accommodations and food! Besides, since we both know Diana is pregnant should she really be traveling internationally? Especially if I have, "tuberculosis."
We're leaving tomorrow to go back to the Loire Valley. It's been fun getting away! I liked Monte Carlo the best! I think I'm also now addicted to chocolate mousse.
A tornado in Kansas? How unusual lol. I'm sure it won't be that bad. Can't let anything ruin Diana's big day!
Oh, and I heard from Henri. Just more mumbo jumbo about how sorry he is and that I should hear him out. He said he was going to come find me so we could talk in person! I really hope he doesn't! I told him to leave me alone and that I never want to see him again. What doesn't he understand about that? He took communications! He should know better!
Au Revoir,
Kate
P.S. Some guys just like Billy better. Get over it! Or at least see if he'll shorten it to Bill.
P.P.S., I think Jeremy's in love with me!!!!
