Re: Armageddon

EVERYTHING IS SUCH A MESS!!

Kiki, I don't know what I'm going to do, Henri is such a douche! He didn't even invite me into his house and then forced me to have lunch with his girlfriend, well I think she's his girlfriend that was never actually confirmed, and that bitch knocked over my coffee! My first ever café au lait thank you very much! I was drenched in it and then I had to spend the night in this creepy locale hostel that I'm pretty sure someone was murdered in and oh yeah smells like cat pee!

But it's not like I can afford somewhere better. I didn't budget for this! I planned on staying with Henri at his parents. I mean why would he say to come and visit if he didn't want me to come and visit? You were right I never should have come here. What was I thinking? Like Henri and I would just pick things up right where we left off? I mean really, I'm the idiot here. I should have just slept with him when I had the chance. And then Lizzie emailed me, and I totally lied about everything! I couldn't tell her the truth because she thought it was so romantic coming here. I'm just so confused. Maybe I should just come back home. Kiki help me!! Tell me what I should do??

Kate

P.S. You are so lucky you have Alec.

New Day. Fresh Start.

That was Kate's mantra the next morning as she got up. Not being a communal bathroom type of person, she bypassed showering and brushing her teeth instead she popped a breath mint and used some of her Victoria Secret body spray to hopefully deflect the stink of all the sweating she did yesterday when she was lugging her crap around the cobblestone Paris streets.

Map in hand Kate left Tentatrice Sombre and headed to the Eiffel Tower. Henri may have turned out to be a jerk but only a wimp would let that ruin their time in the City of Love, even if there was no love to be had, at least for her anyway. Hopping on the metro six stops later she got off and walked three blocks over to the Eiffel Tower, it was packed with tourists and there was a huge line to go up, but Kate didn't mind, anywhere was better than Tentatrice Sombre or in the company of one Henri De La Fontaine.

An hour and a half later Kate finally made it to the top, she felt fortunate, an emotion in the last day and a half that had become foreign to her, that it was sunny, and she was able to see all of Paris spread out before her. She could see in the distance the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and the Seine River. It was better than she imagined, better than pictures in books, better even than in the movies. Sure, it would be nice to share this with someone but Kate had her camera so the moment would not be lost. She knew she could count on Lizzie to make a big fuss even if she was under a number of delusions and would no doubt question why Henri wasn't in any of her pictures.

When Kate started to feel claustrophobic and felt she had taken all the pictures she wanted, she headed back down and turned toward the direction of the metro. But spotting a cute café nearby she decided to stop in and get some nutella and banana crepes. It was as she was just finishing perusing the newspaper left by someone that she heard her name.

Momentarily panicking that it was Henri, the last person she wanted to see, Kate hesitantly turned toward the speaker and found herself even more shocked when she discovered herself staring into the blue eyes of Jeremy LeClair, her best friend from elementary school and while Jeremy didn't know this her first boyfriend.
