By this point, Taehyung and Jimin's rivalry had become a college-wide phenomenon. It had started with a small library argument, but their rivalry got so big that it somehow got their friends dragged into it too.

Jimin's friends-Jungkook, Yoongi, and Jin-had slowly started hanging out with Taehyung's friends, Namjoon and Hoseok, as time went by, their odd meet-ups accidental at first.

Since Jimin and Taehyung would often be late for lunch because they were both busy at each other's throats, Jungkook ended up smiling at a confused Hoseok who was waiting for Taehyung. On the second day, Jungkook, with his bunny teeth, practically bounded up to Hoseok, knowing Taehyung wasn't going to come because he had just seen Jimin chasing Taehyung across the hallway, screaming about murdering him in cold blood or something, and he was just too excited; he couldn't wait to share the news with someone.

On day three, Jin joined them because he, for the love of God, could never deny the tea and wanted to hear about it all from Jungkook himself.

By the end of the week, Namjoon joined the table because Hoseok had been spilling about their meet-ups, and Namjoon really had to bring his notes to Jin. Yoongi began appearing because there was free food, and he was fascinated by Jungkook's rambling, though he would never admit it out loud.

So eventually, all five of them were sitting together so often that they had practically become one friend group.

The only problem was that the two members of the group couldn't stand each other. Their rivalry had become their friends' favourite form of entertainment; it made hanging out so fun.

"Did you hear what Taehyung did today?"

"Did Jimin kick him again?"

"Of course he did."

"How bad?"

"He's limping."

"Again?"

"Again."

The main characters that we are talking about had made it a routine to get on each other's nerves so often that they inadvertently were raising every spectator's blood pressure to an astronomically high level. It was unbelievable how they didn't make a room explode with the extent of energy crackling between them like a line of fire that's about to catch fire at any time.

It would begin with the smallest of things, to be frank.

Jimin would notice Taehyung hadn't submitted an assignment. And his hand would rise in class, his voice sounding so innocent it was hard to believe that he would mean any harm to anyone. "Professor, I think Taehyung hasn't submitted his assignment yet."

Taehyung would slowly turn his head toward him, catching that innocent smile on Jimin's lips, those doe eyes blinking back at him with such an innocent wonder of the world.

Taehyung would narrow his eyes at him, biting back his tongue, and revenge would come by the end of the day.

Sometimes it was a missing pen.

Sometimes it was Jimin's notebook.

Once, Taehyung had even hidden Jimin's favourite highlighter.

All of them would mysteriously end up inside Taehyung's locker. And Taehyung would sit at his desk with the most innocent expression imaginable, chin resting on his palm while Jimin searched around the classroom for the things he had lost in the blink of an eye, the corner of his mouth twitching into a barely hidden smile.
