There wasn't an adequate word in Kagami's dictionary to describe how he felt at that moment.
He was slumped on the mattress, back in the first little room he'd been confined to from the start. How long since Kentaro had dragged him away and left him there? He couldn't even imagine. But enough that he could feel his face starting to heal, but it still hurt a lot.
The blood had dried on his face, creating an unpleasant crust, with a rather nauseating iron smell. Same blood that had run down and soiled his shirt. Even when he had tried to wipe his face, it was to no avail. He had given up, leaving it as it was. His eye throbbed less and less, as the healing factor was working, but it was still swollen and hard to open.
However, what really bothered him was his breathing. Seto had been a merciless monster. An instinctive act like breathing had become a painful mission. He needed to breathe in slowly and lightly, otherwise he was in so much pain that drops of cold sweat pooled on his forehead, clinging to the red strands, smeared with splatters of his own blood.

He could feel Daiki trying to make contact through the mind link. But this time, the boy encountered a strong barrier, as if not even the Tiger wanted the connection. They didn't want their partner to know how he was feeling. He had physically started to heal, but his mind not so much. If he received the slightest gesture of comfort from the Alpha, he would no longer be able to hold himself so strong. He would fall apart.
At one point, that fringe boy, Kagami didn't even remember his name anymore, appeared with more water. And he couldn't believe how hard it was to open that little bottle. Sitting down became one of the most painful actions he had ever thought of before. Doing any level of force affected the ribs. It was also difficult to take the lid off, without being able to move the right hand. At some point, Kentaro had stepped on, crumbling his fingers. He had already improved a lot, a little while ago he couldn't even move them.
He took a slow sip, enjoying it as it made its way down his throat. Pleasant little feeling in the face of everything he'd already suffered. He used the rest of it to go over his face and improve his appearance a little.
Then he dropped onto the mattress again. His eyes locked on the ceiling, bordering on exhaustion. This time he couldn't beat his hunger with water. He felt weak. All his energy focused on one goal, to heal his wounds.
Some time after what seemed like hours, he again felt the presence of that Alpha and his Beta. They came towards his room, very excited. Realizing that made him want to cry in frustration. Taiga was able to capture snippets of how they felt, especially Kentaro. It only meant one thing.. The bond between them was growing deeper and deeper.
The two entered the small room, wasting three seconds just watching the Omega, assessing the damage. Out of sheer instinct, Taiga sat up on the mattress, moaning softly but ready for immediate action.
" You recovered faster than I expected. I thought you'd be in worse shape," Hanamiya commented scornfully.
" Me too." Kentaro commented.
"Nah…" Makoto snubbed again, with a hand gesture, " I bet Ken-chan was very kind and took it easy. He'll do more damage this time."
Taiga followed the exchange of words and his hatred for this type of shifters only increased. They were people of the worst kind, without scruples and limits. Then Seto advanced, startling Kagami, who tried to drag himself backwards in vain. He was taken by the arm and lifted carelessly off the mattress. He had to bite his tongue to hold back the cry of pain. He'd thought the damage to his ribs wasn't so bad anymore. Innocent mistake. It hurt incredibly.
