He walked into the Maji Burger feeling as if he was walking to the gallows, convicted of a crime he hadn't committed. But it had been a constant since he'd discovered that incredible story of being a shifter, an Omega coveted by others of the same race. Race.
A word that had gained a new meaning, Taiga couldn't even consider himself human!
His first reaction was to risk escaping this world and try to move on as if nothing had happened, as far as possible.
Unfortunately, it wasn't so easy. He couldn't turn his back and act like he used to. And, in the end, Taiga was not one to run from challenges. After the first moment of shock, and trying to reflect on the possibilities, he ended up understanding what was evident, he needed help, he needed to know more about the newly discovered world....
That's why he agreed to meet Aomine Daiki, the Alpha of the famous GOM who, under the hood, was one of the most powerful Packs in Tokyo. Theoretically, the boy could help him tune into his inner animal, they were referring to something Kagami still didn't quite understand. Maybe it would make sense when it did? Only then would he worry about the final blow.
Apparently, he would need to choose a group and join it! His initial plan was to follow his life alone and not be shaken. That was until he had contact with a certain Tsugawa, a boy from another high school. , a Beta; very interested in Kagami and his supposed abilities.
Kuroko had made it clear that this would not be an isolated case. There was a good chance that others would come and talk to him. Taiga was smart enough to accept that Tetsuya was right on one point, a bad character might want to force him to do something against his will. He was strong, brave, fearless. But what if he faced an entire group? Could he defend himself? His range of choices was closing minute by minute.
Unless he moved to a desert island, the most logical conclusion is that he would have to join one of those damn Packs. He just wasn't sure if he should do that with the GOM, even if Aomine Daiki went around boasting, without a shadow of shame, that they were destined companions! Or rather, mostly because of that! He still wasn't quite sure.
To make matters worse, he couldn't get in touch with his brother. Himuro didn't answer his messages and emails. He didn't even answer his calls. He was worried. With all those doubts taking away his peace of mind, Kagami bought a mountain of hamburgers and went to sit at a vacant table. He imagined that Kuroko or Kise were hanging around. He still wasn't used to the feeling of being watched.
STALKED. Kagami. He hated to think that they did it for protection. He wasn't a girl and... okay. His condition didn't allow for being so condescending. He should be grateful they took care of his ass. He took a deep breath, grabbing one of the snacks to start eating. He was going to go crazy like that!
Before he could take a bite, a calm came over him. It came slowly, filling his being and pushing away the worried thoughts, dissipating the tension. He relaxed in his chair, his appetite slowly returning. The pessimism was fading and Taiga felt as if the future wasn't so bad, given the prospect. It felt so good that it was impossible not to be surprised. He looked up to see if anyone else seemed to be feeling this good, but his eyes were immediately drawn to the cafeteria door.
Aomine had just arrived. The boy walked confidently, but unhurriedly, to Kagami's table and sat down. He raised his eyebrow when he saw that the redhead was blushing.
"What is it, Bakagami?""Nothing," kagami replied sullenly. All good perceptions disappearing, because Aomine was an irritant who messed with his structures! He would never reveal the feeling of mild euphoria that had made him happy with his arrival! to the other. And worse, he didn't want to think about what that meant for his future. Was it the "destined companions" thing?! He almost groaned.
