Taiga was sitting on the sofa in his own apartment, looking at his cell phone on the coffee table as if it was going to give him the answer to all the questions in the Universe.  The mix of negative feelings that overwhelmed him hit the other shifters as well, even if some were a little farther away.

Daiki remained next to him, sitting on the couch, just watching. When the Kirisaki Daichi boys approached Kagami in the gym, the Omega's anguish had hit him hard, to the point of making him abandon the game before the end and go check what had happened. Now they were there, alone, in the heaviest atmosphere.

Kuroko, Kise, Murasakibara and Midorima were in the middle, on alert. Akashi had gone after his family's contacts. Only Momoi had received the guidance to continue with Touou until the last second, acting normally so as not to arouse further suspicion.

"I thought this guy was in the States" Aomine finally said something.

" Me too" Taiga got up and started pacing nervously "I didn't know Tatsuya had returned to Japan."

He cast a quick glance at his cell phone.  He had just given the device a small charge.  It was luck that his own charger be used, when they both bought their phones they bought similar ones, precisely for these facilities.

Thanks to that, he discovered that Himuro had contacted one of the international plans of the Telephone Operator, the same one he had signed when he returned to Japan.  That way it was not necessary to change chips or numbers.  Very practical.  In addition, the service provider offered automatic call forwarding, as both were in the same country.  That's why he hadn't suspected the truth.

Daiki sincerely regretted that. His feelings reached the Omega and he managed to relax a little. Maybe he should really blame the GOM, who knew all the risks and still acted lightly.

But he couldn't, the big X of the matter was in the fact that Himuro had returned to Japan without telling anyone! How could they be careful and protect him ignoring this fact? Only if Midorima had one of those bizarre dreams, but it didn't work like that. The premonitions didn't come when they turned on a crystal ball.

Somewhat calmer, he returned to sit next to Aomine.

"We fought a little before I returned to Japan.  Tatsuya said he couldn't be my brother anymore... I think that's why he didn't tell me he was coming here too" the guilt bug started pecking Taiga's back of the head again "But how did this Pack relate to us?!"

Daiki just watched him, silently.  In the shifter community it was no secret that Hanamiya had one of the highest IQs, he was smart and a skilled tactician.  Facts that, combined with his lack of character, made him a dangerous enemy.

Treacherous.

Akashi had been wary of the Omega in every possible way, he was never alone.  Even if only Kuroko accompanied him during school term.  Then Kise, as a rule, joined the vigil.  Or Midorima.

Also, after bonding, the team captain had created six different routes for Kagami to go from home to school and six different routes for him to return home from school.  Combinations that interspersed following a complex pattern outlined by Seijuro and that even a genius like Hanamiya would take some time to identify.

That's why the Omega's apartment was safe and the enemies only found one way of contact, through the Interhigh, where they took advantage of the gaps that facilitated the approach.
