OTHER DINOSAURS' PAINED GROANS FILLED THE QUIET ATMOSPHERE.
"do you remember the first time you saw a dinosaur?" mom asks
i smile to myself recalling the memory in my mind
"first time you see them, it's like... a miracle. you read about them in books, you seen the bones in museums, but you don't really believe it. they're like myths."
-"and then you see that first one alive."
"this is not your fault." dad reassured her
"but it is." i stare at her
"no." dad negotiates
"this one's on me." he continues "i showed them the way."
he then stands up walking towards the front area of the cell.
"listen. you and i are gonna have plenty of time to talk about this later."
"if there is a later." i still remain quiet
"yes, there is. i got a cabin to finish." i snort
a thud then interrupts the moment coming from the cage next to us.
"what is that?"
dad jumps up to peer into the other cage to see.
"well, look who just woke up." he states
he then whistles "go."
i furrow my brows in confusion.
the creature then bashes against the wall and the lock on the cage begins to shake.
"thank, jesus!" i say in relief
dad jumps down from the wall
"we're getting out of here."
i stand in the corner as my dad whistles again
"what are you doing?" mom asks
"escaping."
"you sure about this?" she asks him again
"nope."
"can i try?" i plead
"nope." i groan
