Chapter 10 - first date

I woke up the next morning and immediately looked at my phone, I saw a message from Lisa and then looked down at another message from Leah. I clicked on Lisa's message first

Lisa- good morning, I was wondering if you would maybe like to go out on a date today? It's ok if not but I just feel this connection with you.

Butterflies flooded my stomach as I read this message, she felt the connection too, I replied almost immediately not caring if I sounded desperate.

Ella- good morning to you too, I would love to go out on a date with you today . What should I wear and where is it?

I waited eagerly for her reply and when I finally saw those three dots I was so happy

Lisa- wear whatever dosent have to be fancy, I will pick you up around 7:00ish, see you then.

Ella-see you then!

After that I went and looked at the message Leah sent, I don't know why but I was excited to open it.

Leah- hey I heard you got into the England team for the euros, can't wait to see you there.

Ella- yeah can't wait, see you there.

I  was shocked she was texting me, I thought she would hate me after I broke things off with her.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Guro eating some cereal "your smile could light up a whole city," she said laughing I just smiled "someone's got a date!" I said and she jumped up and immediately hugged me "oh my gosh who with?" She asked and I just smiled wider thinking about her "Lisa" I said and she just laughed "told you that you had a crush on her!" She shouted as she went to wash up her brown from her cereal.

I had some breakfast and the day was going so slowly, all I wanted was to be on a date with Lisa. She made me feel so happy and safe.

We got ready for training and left the house, I couldn't wipe this smile off my face and I'm sure everyone would notice. As I walked in I saw Magda and Pernille walking in at the same time, I went and said hi to them and I was immediately questioned about my mood "so what's brought this massive smile to your face," Magda asked and I just looked up at her "nothing," I said happily "oh come on, it can't be nothing you are smiling from ear to ear" Pernille said and I just giggled "you will find out in time, don't you worry," I was walking away when Erin came over to me "someone's happy," she said and I just giggled "am I usually angry or something?" I asked and she just laughed "no it's just you have a massive smile on your face, I didn't think it was possible to have a smile that big," she said making me laugh at the end. We walked off to training and got into the gym for a session.

"So as you all know we have international break coming up for the euros," Emma started to say "I just want to say good luck to anyone participating and if you aren't don't worry there will still be training." Once she had finished talking I went straight over to do some cardio on one of the static bikes and was followed by Millie.

"Hey you alright?" She asked as she hopped onto the broke beside me "yeah I'm fine how about you?" I asked "yeah really pumped about the euros, I have a good feeling about this euros," she said and I realised I felt the exact same "so do I, I've never played in a major tournament before but I'm exited and I have a great feeling that England will go far," I said.

We finished up in the gym and I headed home to get ready to go out. Once I got back I went straight to the shower and started getting ready, I didn't want to dress too fancy but I also didn't want it to be too casual. I decided to go for some light blue, ripped baggy jeans and a white t-shirt with a leather jacket and some vans.

It was nearly 7:00 and I was starting to get nervous, I had butterflies in my stomach I kept watching the clock tick closer to 7:00 and when it finally hit I watched the door from the sofa eagerly.

When the doorbell finally ring I jumped off of my seat and opened the door, "hey," I said as I saw Lisa standing outside the door in some jeans a t-shirt and a coat. "Hey how are you," she asked making my smile grow wider "I'm good thank you, how are you?" "Yeah I'm fine, should we go then?" She asked and i stepped out the door following her to her car.

We got in the car and we drove to a nice restaurant and headed in, there was cool light up signs on the walls and posters covering the whole place. We sat at a booth in the corner and started to have a look at the drinks menu. "So what do you want?" Lisa asked me "I think I will have a Fanta, what are you having?" I asked in return "probably a Diet Coke or something," she replied.

We ordered our drinks and while we waited we passed light conversation and asked each other questions to get to know each other better. I felt comfortable talking to her it just felt right, I felt like I could speak to her forever and never get bored.

We ordered our food and continued talking as we ate. Once we had finished we left the resterant and headed to a park across the road, "so tell me about your childhood," she said "well I grew up in a small village with a lovely community, I have am older and a younger brother who I used to play football with in the garden and I would always beat them and they would get angry. My parents are the most caring people you could ever meet and have been there for me no matter what." I said and as I said it it made me remember all my amazing childhood memories "they all sound amazing," she said "we should head back it's getting kind of late." I looked at the time as she said this and it was getting really late it was nearly midnight and I had training in the morning.

We arrived at my house and Lisa walked me to the door "I had fun with you tonight, maybe we could do this again sometime?" She asked and I smiled "I would love that," I replied and just as I was about to go into my house she pulled me in for a kiss, it was slow but comfortable and our lips fitted together perfectly.

When we pulled away I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. "I'll text you later," she said before kissing my cheek and heading to her car.
