Chapter 1 - wsl final

(None of these games are real, they are all made up by me.)

I wake up to a loud banging on my door
"Dude wake up we have to leave" I hear Guro shout as I get out of bed "Alright I'm up calm down," I say opening the door "You're not dressed yet?" She asks alarmed. "What do you mean?" I ask confused to why she is waking me up so early anyway. "We have to go," she says with a sense of urgency "Where?" At this point I have no clue what she is talking about as I have just woken up and all I want to do is go back to bed. "It's the final today. Against arsenal. Don't tell me you forgot!" She says while smacking her face into her palms. "Shit I totally forgot!" I say now realising "give me five minutes meet me in the car I will be down soon"

I run back into my room and throw on my Chelsea joggers and jumper, I pack my bag with all the essentials and run to the car.

"Right let's go," I say getting into the passenger seet of the car "Took you long enough we are going to be late now!" Guro says joking as she knows that I only took two minutes to get ready

We drive for about ten minutes before we reach the training ground we say hi to all the girls and me and Guro go and sit with our close friends Sam Kerr, Erin Cuthbert and Millie Bright

"Right girls," Emma says as we all are sat down "we play arsenal today in the final we all need to go out there and play our best, this is a very important game and i know you can all go out there and win."

We all gathered onto the bus and headed to the stadium. We were playing at kings meadow, it felt good to be playing a final at our home stadium. We were all on the bus, everyone doing their pre Match rituals such as listening to music or texting family. For me I preferred to talk to my friends to get my mind off of what was about to happen.

I turned to Sam Kerr who was sat next to me, we always sit next to each other before a game, we were talking for a while when we started talking about the different players "so who do you think is going to be the best defender on the arsenal side?" I asked Sam. "I don't know but i have played Leah Williamson before and let's just say she puts up a good challenge," Sam replied.

We got off the bus and headed to the changing room to get ready for our warm up. We got in and found our seats and sat down. We all got ready for our warm up and headed out. As we walked out we saw the arsenal girls walk out to do their warm up as-well, but one in particular caught my eye.

I had never really had a crush on anyone, but there is something about Leah Williamson that just makes it impossible for me to get her off my mind. I walked out onto the pitch to warm up. I must have been staring for too long because before I knew it I was walking into the back of Guro. "Sorry," I mumble as I stumbled to stop myself falling over
"Don't worry about it. But who had you so distracted?" Guro asked with a smirk on her face.  "What do you mean?" I asked trying to play dumb. "Was there a certain defender that caught your eye over there?"

Guro was my best friend we were roommates and never left each other alone. When I moved to Chelsea senior team after coming through the youth teams me and her just seemed to click. She was always there for me when I needed her, and never left me to go through anything alone.

"Shh. Ok maybe I was looking but it dosent mean anything," I replied trying to defend myself. "Oh come on you were practically drooling over her," Guro said so loud I'm pretty sure the whole stadium would have know i was looking at someone. Thankfully for me though no one knew who, well apart from Guro of course

We went back to the changing rooms to get ready for the match I was playing in my preferred forward position. We sat in the changing rooms waiting for Emma to give her pre-game speech.

Emma walked through the door and saw us all in our kits. She stood at the front of the changing room so everyone could see her and she started to give her speech "right girls, we have had a great season so far and a win would just top it off. We have a very strong team today and I believe that we are strong enough to beat arsenal and lift that trophy. Arsenal have a strong side and will be a tricky opponent, but if we keep playing like we have been this season we will smash them and take home the title."

Then Magda gave her speech, "girls, we are an amazing team if we keep playing like we have been this whole season we will definitely take home the title. I believe in you girls we can do this team on three!"
"ONE.... TWO.... THREE.... TEAM" we all shouted as we got ready to walk out onto the pitch. I lined up ready to go out and play like I have never played before. This match was a very important one and we would need to put in all the effort we had to win it.

We walked out and the whistle blew to signal play, we were dominating in the first half but arsenal's defence were strong. We played well but the half time whistle blew and it was still 0-0.

We go to the changing rooms and we weren't upset that it was still 0-0 we were more confident to go out there and prove we could do it.

Half time was over and we were getting ready for the second half. The whistle blew to signal pay and we were off. Sam had a few good shots on goal but they're were all saved. It was the 70th minute and I was running up to the box, Guro crossed it in and it hit my foot and flew perfectly through the air and into the back of the net.

The crowd went wild as I ran to the side of the pitch and screamed. We had a goal we were a goal ahead and I had just scored a goal in a wsl final.

The final whistle blew and as we all ran to each other screaming I saw the arsenal team looking disappointed, i ran over to them to congratulate them on how they played. As I was going round the arsenal team I reached the one and only Leah Williamson, she was even prettier up close, I shook her hand and we both said at the same time "well played." I giggled before walking off to find the rest of my team.

We all lifted the trophy, and none of it felt real. We all ran into the changing rooms and let the celebrations begin.
