When the hospital called all three of us, we all jumped out of bed and found facing each other in the hallway.

To say we were startled would be an understatement. The tense atmosphere in the car when we drove to the hospital could be cut with a knife.

All kinds of scenarios went through my head as we ran up to the third floor and I tried very hard to think bout positive thoughts. She would be okay, I knew she would.

And when the doctor told us she was awake, it was like a weight had been lifted off our shoulders.

I couldn't contain the happiness that found its way in me as I turned to Ace but he was already moving across the hall towards her room.

I chuckled, shaking my head and turning to Stuart and Matteo who were also grinning widely.

I guess all of us were relieved. We hugged each other and talked for a while before I thought I should go and check in on Ace. I excused myself and walked over to the room and opened the door quietly.

The sight in front of me warmed my heart when I saw him lying on the bed next to her with her head on his chest.

By the looks of it, it seemed like she had gained consciousness and talked to Ace. I could see the dark circles under Ace's eyes but he looked more relaxed now as he slept.

His features weren't tense anymore and he was holding on to her tightly.

I smiled to myself, feeling the joy and happiness. I can only imagine what Ace was feeling when she woke up.

A love for the ages.

I quietly and quickly took a picture of them both sleeping before pulling the blanket over them and leaving the room after turning the lights off.

I know now things would be a lot better than before and it wouldn't be long before Giovanni would be six feet under.
