At exactly 4 p.m., both Abby and I walked out of college while chatting about what we would be doing today and also about last night.

"So you kissed him in the pool?" She squealed and I hushed her, noticing the weird looks we got from people.

"Yes, but keep it down!" I told her and she giggled.

"That's so hot. What else did you do?" She asked with wide eyes and I laughed, shaking my head at her excitement.

"Nothing, jeez! We only kissed, Abby!" I told her and she shook her head.

"Aw man, I thought you got laid!" She laughed and I snorted.

"Ha, no." I said.

"But seriously though, please don't tell Ave. I want to tell her myself." I told her and she stopped to look at me.

"Don't worry Dove, I won't." She reassured me and we spotted my sister leaning against a shiny navy blue car, just as Daniel, her boyfriend, came out of the driver's seat and I beamed, running over to them and hugging Ava.

"Dovey!" Ava exclaimed, laughing.

"You're killing me, sis." She said and I let her go with a huff.

"I missed you too." I told her sarcastically and she hugged me again with an eye roll at my dramatic behaviour.

"I know, me too." She said and pulled back smiling just as Daniel came behind her and gave me a brotherly hug, patting my back.

"How are you, Dove?" He asked me and I smiled at him.

"Good, great, how are you guys?" I asked them and we talked there for a few more minutes while waiting for Cole before we left.

Ava, Abby and I did some shopping while Daniel and Cole went somewhere else, probably an arcade or a car show or something like that. At the end, we all watched a comedy movie and then went to our place.

"Are you ready yet, Dove? Ava's being fussy!" I heard Daniel call and I looked at myself once more in the mirror, quickly refreshing my nude pink lipstick and ran downstairs, putting on my new black heels that we bought today.

"Yeah, let me just wear my coat." I slipped my coat on me and he gave me his signature smile.

"You look great." He told me and I smiled warmly, thanking him. Daniel was the type of guy that would make girls blush, not that I thought of him that way. He was like an older brother to me and a good friend.

Ava and he both deserved each other, and they both loved each other very much.

"Thanks, you clean up nice too." I told him and he grinned when Ava came out and he kissed her cheek, showering her with compliments while she giggled and blushed while I pretended to gag.

"Ready you guys?" She said after they got over their lovey-dovery stuff, putting on her coat over her red dress and we all nodded, Abby and Cole joining us.

"You guys look nice." I pointed to Cole who wore a blue dress shirt with black pants and Abby who wore a light pink off the shoulder dress.

"Thanks, you look hot, babe." Abby beamed, making me laugh as she walked out with Cole right behind her.

"I'll take those." I snatched the my car's keys from Daniel's hand and sat in the driver's seat, basking in the scent of my car that I'd left at home because I thought I wouldn't need it.

I ran my hand over the steering wheel as Daniel came to my indow with a grin.

"It looks like you missed your car more than us, Dovey." He told me and Ava laughed from behind him before they walked off to Dan's car.

"You're right, I did miss my baby." I patted the steering wheel as we drove off towards the party, where Daniel had snagged us invites, singing to songs on the radio.

It was very upscale, I noticed when we arrived there as I looked around the posh area.

It seems oddly familiar though.

We got off and I handed my coat at the entrance, twirling the free locks of my hair with my fingers and taking the elevators with everyone else.

When we entered the penthouse, the lights were dimmed and people were everywhere, women wearing shiny and glitzy dresses and the guys in suits. Music was playing loudly and everyone chatted happily, some dancing and some drinking.

"Drinks?" Daniel asked us and we all went to the bar where everyone took shots but I settled for something less strong since I was not ready to get hammered tonight.

Just then a few guys came over to me and eyed us all before moving on to Daniel. They all met with Daniel and they sad hi to each other as he introduced Ava, then turned to me.

"Kade, this is Dove, the one I was telling you about." The guy named Kade looked at me and gave me a smile before holding out his hand and I shook it, his brown eyes shining as he ran a han through his light brown hair.

"Nice to meet you Dove, I've heard a lot about you, and I can't say I'm disappointed." He gave me a charming smile and I smiled back, although a bit uneasily.

"Thanks." I told him and his grin grew wider, remembering Daniel and Ava telling me about Dan's friend Kade and I knew they were trying to play matchmaker. Idiots.

I tried to tell them I didn't want to met this 'Kade' guy, avoiding the whole 'Nicholas' topic and leaving it to explain at a better time, but they didn't listen to anything I had to say.

He's cute, but I didn't feel the goose bumps or the electricity I feel when I'm with him.

We chatted and had a drink, but he made sure I didn't take anything too strong since I told him I didn't want to get drunk.

"You're really beautiful." He tucked a stray strand behind my ear and I shievered, clearing my throat and looking away as his hand fell from my face.

"Can I kiss you?" He said and I was about to say 'no' when leaned forwardand placed a small peck on my lips. I pulled away immediately, appalled and disgusted.

What the fuck?

I was about to knock some sense into the guy but before I could, Daniel and Ava came over to us, Cole and Abby behind them.

"You good, Dovey?" Dan asked me and I gave him a tight smile and shrugged.

"Mmhm." I hummed just when my phone lit up with a notification. I looked at it and opened my phone immediately when I saw a message from Nicholas with a smile and Daniel nudged me.

"Who's got you smiling like that?" He raised his eyebrows at me and I shook my head., biting my lip to contain the grin.

"No one, just saw something funny." I gave him a smile and he nodded as I glanced at my phone discreetly to see what the message was.

"Liar."

I gasped, my phone dropping from my hand but Kade was quick to pick it up and hand it to me.

"You okay?" Ava asked me while I stood there shocked, whipping my head towards Cole and Abby.

I mouthed 'he's here' and both their eyes went wide as they searched the room for him. My eyes roamed the crowded place, searching for him frantically but I didn't find him.

How did he know?

"What's wrong, Dovey? You look like you've seen a ghost." Daniel asked me, wraping his arm around my shoulder protectively and concerned and as if on cue, someone cleared their throat behind us and all of us turned around with and we were met face to face with the devil himself.

"Oh, fuck." Cole whispered.

Oh fuck indeed.
