3 months later

Jimin was sitting in his usual chair in Yoongi's office when Jungkook walked in carrying a duffle bag. Jimin knew that meant that Jungkook was going to be driving to another town in search of Taehyung. He would be gone all weekend. It always bothered Jimin that he couldn't tell the two alphas, whom he now thought of as friends, the location of where the person they were seeking was living.

It was driving him crazy with guilt, knowing how hard Jungkook was searching and not being able to help him. He not only knew where Taehyung was, he knew something more important. Something that Taehyung was desperate to keep hidden because he was scared it would be taken away from him. Jimin actually did not think the same as Taehyung, but he couldn't betray the only person who was more than a friend to him.

Taehyung was more than a friend, more than a brother; Taehyung was Jimin's soulmate. Not soulmate as in lovers, but soulmate as in friends at a soul level. Since that first day in preschool, Jimin and Taehyung have had a profound and deep connection that transcended the Earthly realm. They not only shared thoughts but also feelings and emotions.

Jimin felt in his soul how scared Taehyung was, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not get it through Taehyungs head and heart that Jungkook meant him no harm. All he could do was try to convince Taehyung to contact Jungkook and tell him the important secret. Until Taehyung understood that Jungkook didn't hate him and wouldn't intentionally harm him, Jimin would keep Taehyung's secrets even if it hurt him to do so.

But it was getting harder and harder to keep that secret, watching the two alphas in front of him. Knowing Yoongi was hacking into the system to search for registered locations of anyone named Kim Taehyung. Jungkook would then drive to whichever city and go knocking on doors trying to find his mate. Jimin thought it was something right out of a romance book. Only Jungkook and Yoongi kept picking the wrong places to search.

'If only Taehyung would believe me when I tell him how hard Jungkook is searching for him.' Jimin thought as he turned his head to watch the fire.

Yoongi was handing Jungkook the list that had all the addresses of anyone that had registered the name Kim Taehyung. This time there was only 10 addresses on the paper Yoongi had just printed out. Jungkook took the paper, folded into quarters and put it in his back pocket. As Jungkook was talking about his trip, Jimin got up quickly stating he needed the restroom and rushed out the door.

"I am taking it that you haven't asked him yet." Jungkook said as he watched Jimin's back disappear out the door.

Yoongi was watching the omega escape as well and shook his head. "He hasn't been doing so well lately. He is depressed or something. I don't want to make it worse. He seems so weak and fragile. You know the story of what happened the last time Taehyung moved away from him when they were younger. I don't want to push him over the edge by interrogating him for a location."

"Tssk," Jungkook made the noise by sucking in one side of his cheek "we don't even need the exact address just the vicinity would help."

Yoongi turned to look at his brother, knowing how frustrated Jungkook was "I know, namdongseng. I will see what I can do to get it out of him."

"Get what out of who? What are you two troublemakers planning?" Leader Deukshi bulky stature filled the doorway as he leaned his shoulder on the doorframe.

Jungkook turned and saw his appa, making a 90 degree bow to show respect, he answered, "Nothing really, just trying to find my mate. Jimin knows where he is at."

"We were just talking about how we would ask Jimin without hurting the omega." Yoongi also stood up from his desk to bow before answering his appa.

Pushing off the doorframe, Deukshi walked into Yoongi's office to stand closer to his sons. "You need to leave that boy alone. He is having a tough enough time with all of this without you two grilling him or making him feel he has to choose sides."

"But appa, he knows where Taehyung is at." Jungkook kind of whined, shifting in his place uncomfortably.

Deukshi took a drink of his coffee before he shook his head "I know, Jungkook. But you know that we are a pack that allows members to stay willingly with their Alpha or leave to choose another pack if they feel their Alpha is lacking.  It is not against pack law for a member to choose to leave the pack. As Alpha, I can not force Taehyung to stay in the pack, nor can I force his parents to divulge his location. That includes friends of the family as well."

Clasping Jungkook on his shoulder when Jungkook hung his head, Deukshi continued, "As sons of the Leader and future Pack Leader, you are obligated to follow those rules. You can't question a member against their will and force them to give you the answers you want on something that doesn't have anything with pack law. It would be different if Taehyung stole something or took something that wasn't his but just moving and scouting other packs is not against the law."

"I know. It's just so frustrating. He knows I am going town to town searching for Tae." Jungkook raised his head to look his appa in the eye. Deukshi can see the glimmer of tears in his son's eyes that he knew Jungkook will refuse to let fall.

Pulling Jungkook into a hug, Deukshi told his son, "I know you will find him. It is better that you do it this way. Once you find him, then they can't say we pressured them or used our power over them. It also proves how dedicated you are towards keeping your word that you want him as your mate. Just keep this between you and Yoongi. And maybe Hoseok if he wants to help. I can't do anything to help you more than turning a blind eye to Yoongi's illegal database searches on other packs membership lists."

Deukshi looked at his other son over Jungkook's shoulder and smirked. Yoongi smugly returned, "I don't know what you are talking about, Leader."

"I didn't mention anything. I can't talk about something I don't know." Duekshi snickered softly, releasing Jungkook from the hug and reached over to pat Yoongi on his shoulder with a knowing look.

'Of course, appa knows about your hacking. He won't be Alpha if he didn't know.' Jungkook mind linked Yoongi before giving his appa a proud look and smiling warmly at him. "We won't bother the omega. He has been acting anxious and skittish lately anyways."

"All the more reason to leave him alone. It is our responsibility to make all pack members feel safe, cared for, and secure. We don't want anyone feeling left out or unwanted, especially Jimin. He needs our support and understanding. He really is just a casualty of everything that has happened last year. He lost just as much, if not more than what you did, Jungkook." Deukshi took a couple of steps toward the door.

Yoongi proudly explained to his leader and appa, "I have been trying to encourage him to do his homework in my office; that way, he is not alone. Hoseok and the two of us are the only ones here his age. Hobi is always gone working with his appa, and we are usually both busy as well. So, I allow him to stay here and help with his homework if he needs it. I don't want to smother him too much with protection, but I let him come to me. It's hard though his distress makes me want to hold him close until he feels better."

"I think Yoongi has feeelllingsss for him." Jungkook sung, teasing his older brother.

Yoongi punched Jungkook hard in the stomach, making him lose his breath. "I do not. It just bothers me when he goes around moping all the time. You know it bothers you too because you told me."

"You both are doing well. Keep up the good work. I am proud of both of you. Have fun on your 'sightseeing trip', son. Be careful." Deukshi threw over his shoulder as he walked out the door, chuckling. His alpha instincts told him that Jimin meant more than what Yoongi wanted to admit but he wasn't going to say anything about that.

Yoongi walked Jungkook to his car and watched him drive off. Turning back to go into the packhouse, he found Jimin asleep on the living room couch. He pulled the blanket off the back of one of the chairs and walked over to cover the sleeping omega. Noting the tear marks stained on Jimin's cheeks as he tucked the cover under his chin, his heart pulled tightly, wondering what was making the younger boy cry. Not sure if it is anything he could fix and not wanting to wake the omega up by accident, he walked back to his office to get some paperwork done before the day is over.
