January 16, Saturday
Late afternoon
Yoongi and Jungkook had been fighting side by side all night, having gotten separated from the rest of their group. Once Jimin and Taehyung were sealed in the safe room with the others, their next priority became to save the villagers. They did not even try to defend the packhouse and ran straight out the door, not pausing until they got to the village. They easily found Leader Jeon by following the sound of his commands. Beta HyunJo, Hoseok, Pilwoo, and Mijeong were all nearby.
There were already some injured, so Sukjong immediately set up a triage by the docks. It was the only place that wasn't overrun by fighting. Leader Jeon ordered several guardians to clear and guard the area as a safe zone for the village. Pilwoo, Mijeong, and Hoseok were bringing in the villagers to get them away from the rogues.
From the looks of it, there were 40 or 50 rogues attacking randomly. Half of those were not doing serious harm but rioting and burning houses and vehicles. The other half were purposely trying to fatally hard anyone they ran across, pulling innocent villagers out of their hiding places and fighting them like they were guardians and warriors. Only a few villagers have lost their lives before the guards could rescue them, but that was a few too many.
The vigilantes attacked in groups, hitting hard and quickly at anyone they found, then running off as soon as the guards rushed to the aid of the villagers to search for their next victims while the guards tended to the ones they left crushed and/or bleeding behind. It took all night to get most of the villagers to safety, having to fight off the invaders along the way. There were still quite a few villagers unaccounted for who may or may not still be in hiding, so they continued to search the ransacked houses and buildings long into the night and early the next morning. Every life counted and was important.
They quickly figured out that all of it had been a distraction for breaking out the prisoners from the small jail. Minhyuk and his accomplices were discovered missing fairly early this morning when the jail was literally hit by a vehicle to break thru the wall. Even with his bright red hair, Minhyuk has not been spotted since. It was thought that he and his friends had already left the village to gain some ground before guards chased after him since it was obviously the whole purpose of the attack.
What Yoongi couldn't figure out was why the rogues were still fighting after Minhyuk escaped. At first, he thought it was to give Minhyuk time to get some distance away, but they continue to raid and riot throughout the day. Plainly there was a secondary reason, but Yoongi hasn't had the time to figure out what it could be with the situation being as it is. Fighting all day and all night, they only got a couple hours of sleep before they were needed again.
Yoongi was looking into the windows of one of the buildings when he saw the reflection of one of the rogues coming up behind him in the glass. He managed to duck out of the way as the big man lunged at him intending to wrap his meaty hands around Yoongi's neck. Like a cat, he somehow scrambled to the big man's back and straddled him like he would a horse. Using all his strength he snapped the man's neck quickly. Yoongi gracefully stepped off to the side as the man fell to the ground. 'The bigger they are, the slower they are.' Yoongi thought before walking towards Jungkook and saying "How many more?"
"I don't know. I lost track and I haven't seen any of the others since we left the house." Jungkook answered while shaking his head. Yoongi could see the exhaustion on his brother's face. He was sure he looks the same but they can not stop until they find all the villagers.
Looking around at the destruction, Yoongi spotted a couple of houses that still looked possibly intact. "Let's go check out the houses and make sure there are no survivors trapped there. "
