June 2, Monday
Leader Jeon was sitting at the dinner table talking with Yoongi and Jungkook. Wongyeong and Mijeong were bringing out the Galbi-gui (grilled beef short ribs) and banchan (side dishes of vegetables, kimchi, fish cakes, etc.) while Sinmu was dishing out rice into bowls that Jimin carried to the table.
"There is an old undeveloped pack North of Gyeongju, that has put out a request to the elders for assistance with their housing and village construction. Most of the pack is living in small thatch-roofed huts that were built during the Joseon dynasty, and half of those huts are without electricity." Leader Jeon explained while serving himself some ribs on his rice.
KeonHo picked up where Deukshi left off "They do have some modern housing like their pack house and hospital."
"I believe their marketplace and elementary also have electricity." Beta HyunJo interrupted to add.
Deukshi nodded his head, "Right. I guess there are some houses that have electricity as well. Alpha Son So is trying to get the whole village with electricity, phone, and internet service."
"That is where we come in since I run the software and programming at a telecom and internet company, they have asked us to map an electrical grid of the area and create a power flow analysis that works best for the whole village to have modern utilities," KeonHo said with his mouth full of rice and meat. Sinmu slapped his hand across KeonHo's arm for talking with his mouth full.
Beta HyunJo choked a little on his tea seeing that before saying, "They already have permission from the Planning and Zoning commission, and they have their own substation built, which is why some of the bigger buildings and houses already have electricity. The problem is they need to figure some kind of distribution system to get power to the smaller houses that need it."
"We will be taking a crew out there to get them going after we show them the grid design I came up with. But I cannot stay for long." KeonHo leaned back in his chair so he could look at Jungkook and Yoongi.
Deukshi said, "Beta HyunJo and Head Guardian will go for a few days to explain the grid design and answer any questions, but they will have to come right back after that. I want you and Yoongi to go with them and then remain there to run our crews that are going to help build the grids."
"From what I understand, they already have all the equipment, supplies, and tools needed. They just need to know where to put the utility poles and manpower to get them in the ground." Beta HyunJo tells the boys.
Jungkook looks at his appa, "So you want me and Yoongi to lead the crew that will set the poles and pull the wire? And make sure the job gets done and stays on schedule?"
"Yes. It will be a good experience for the both of you. Basically, the crew is made up of our own people, wolves that work within the power company that we have personally requested for this job since not just anyone is allowed access into a wolf pack village." Deukshi told his two sons.
Yoongi glanced quickly at Jimin and then looked back at his appa. "How long will we be there?"
"A few weeks, shouldn't be longer than a month. They will give you food, lodgings, and everything you need for your stay." Deukshi smiled as Wongyeong put some more ribs on his rice along with some kimchi and soy sauce bean sprouts which were his favorite, giving her a little wink when she was done that had her blushing.
Yoongi rolled his eyes at his parents' antics, he knew he was lucky that his parents were still very much in love and treated each other well. Jungkook was somewhat disappointed at the news since he would have to pause his weekend search trips for Taehyung during that time, but it still sounded like an interesting adventure and a new leadership experience, so his disappointment did not last for long. Alphas naturally love challenges and are not afraid to step out of their comfort zone to try something new.
