December 12, Saturday evening

Jungkook walked into the garage where Yoongi was working on his Palisade, checking the oil, brake fluid, and radiator. Yoongi's head was halfway under the lifted hood wiping the dipstick before putting it back in its slot. Jungkook walked up and put his elbows on the top of the grill, "Tae and Mini want to go Christmas shopping tomorrow."

Yoongi just nodded his head as he pulled the dipstick out again. Using his other hand, he pulled the end of the long stick closer to him to read the measure of the oil. Jungkook continued, "If it is all right with you, I will bring the pup along as well."

"I don't mind. We can put his car seat in my SUV now, so we don't have to mess with it tomorrow." Yoongi said. He finished checking the oil and was putting more washer fluid into the windshield wiper reservoir.

Jungkook nodded his head in agreement. "Yea, I can do that in a minute."

Yoongi could tell that there was something on Jungkook's mind. His little brother has learned to hide his emotions very well, but Yoongi has lived with him his whole life and could detect the subtle changes in Jungkook's demeanor. Yoongi jerked his chin up quickly and said "What is bothering you, Kook."

"Taehyung wants me to forgive Jin and go back to being friends with him again," Jungkook said, sighing loudly while moving aside so Yoongi could close the hood.

Yoongi wiped the fingerprints off the front of the hood, "Hm, Jimin has been telling me the same thing about Namjoon."

"Are you going to do it? I don't know if I can." Jungkook said, turning to lean his back on the grill and crossing his arms against his chest.

Yoongi also leaned his back on the SUV. Using the garage towel, he wiped his hands clean, "I don't know. I do miss him. we grew up together, but.. .. . you know. .. he was the one who drew the line."

"I know what you mean. I am sorry, Hyung. You lost your best friend because of what I did. I was such a fool." Jungkook lowered his head and looked at his feet, feeling shamed.

Yoongi put his hand on Jungkook's shoulder, "Don't take the blame for something you had no control over. You may have messed up, but it was his decision to end our friendship over it."

"You can't blame him. What if it was the other way around, Hyung? What if I was the omega and Taehyung had rejected me? Would you not do the same as Namjoon did? What if Taehyung had locked me in a room when I was in my heat? You said that Namjoon kept trying to break the door down for hours that first day. He didn't know that I was trying to fight it or that Taehyung tricked me. He was just trying to protect his little brother. Just like you always do." Jungkook tried to catch Yoongi's hand as he turned away from him.

Yoongi pulled back a little but did not move further away. He stayed standing next to Jungkook. Finally, turning his head to look at his brother's face. "That is true. And I probably would have done the same thing, but what everyone is forgetting ... .. What I can't forget and what made me want to help you is that .. .. YOU regretted what you did. You WANTED to make it right. You even went to his parents. Went to Namjoon and apologized and told them you wanted to fix it and make Tae your mate. They can say all they want about how they were protecting Taehyung, but you were never a danger to him. But the thing that really pisses me off is that not only did they hide Taehyung knowing you were looking for him, but they never told you about the pup. You had a child and you didn't even know it. They stole that from you."
